Why no post game stats?

I understand that post game stats would largely be used to shame other players, but it would still provide great insight on to why we lost. Did this ever exist? Any chance it will exist? Sometimes my team will seemingly do well, but still lose, and I’d like to figure out why. I understand the game is much more dynamic than individual stats, but any feedback would be great.

Think you just answered your own question. Also, post-game screen already has enough for players to do with upvoting stats and complimenting teamwork or sportsmanship … adding more would make it too cluttered and detract from the other two things.

Id love to see PERSONAL post game stats, not everyone elses.

I do want to know how i can improve as a player

I do not want to see other people stats so i can figure out more ways to flame them.

People dont need to know why their team lost the game, they need to know why they lost the game.

I did! If you go back to the early gameplay demos the official YouTube channels put up, you’ll actually see there was a post game scoreboard. It was such a good idea and I hate that they removed it. A scoreboard would honestly help a lot of players improve

Maybe to avoid shaming they could let you check those stats exclusively from the main menu rather than seeing them in the post-game. Like:

  1. Game ends
  2. Players exit to main menu
  3. Click Menu option “Match Stats”
  4. Opens up menu with stat sheets for the last 5-10 games, featuring stats for the player, their team, and the enemy team.

I mentioned it bc I knew it would be a popular response, and the rest of what I said was saying in spite of that. I disagree with that being enough, hence this post, however, your response is appreciated ty. If it was something I could look back on, like highlights and view on my own time, it would easily avoid any clutter.

you used to be able to see your game stats with pursuit app but blizzard banned it because… reasons.

The overly sensitive people that play this game that have no experience with every other game in history that has scoreboards, failed to realize that the toxicity in OverWatch comes from lack of information.
People have to guess and point fingers because they have no clue on anything that’s going on most of the time. Everybody always has the same mentality, “it’s my teams fault and never mine”.
You could be the worst player on the team and have gold eliminations. While you were playing Deathmatch the whole game you were letting your healers die and losing team fights constantly.
Like I said literally every other game has had scoreboard for decades with no issues.

same expanded self stats would be perfect. healing stopped as ana, DM damage cancelled as DVA, average rein shield health per fight, orisa CC cancelled, etc.

IDNK everyone else’s but 30 more stats for myself would really help esp when doing non meta comps

you can do it the hard way with a spread sheet by sceenshotting your tab screen at the end of match divide your stats by the match time then x 10 to give you stats per 10mins which you can use to compare your performance across games.
blizz could do this for you but some replay game feature is more useful apparently. also with them banning pursuit they seem to think seeing your per game stats is down right cheating.

This is the most absurd thing ever to be made into gaming market, i have played games for like 20 years of my 28 years life and this is the first game ever that toxicity growns because nobody knows how good or how bad they are, nobody knows what you did, nobody, just you! Shame other people? If that is a valid anwser, then you just shouldn’t be allowed on the internet, you should be looked on a cage, or on a leash, since you are incapable of behave yourself. What Blizzard should be doing is teaching their players how to be better, how to respect their enemies for their strength and how his allies build his strength.
I play some pserver of older games cause the emotions i had was good back then, i play overwatch cause i felt a few minutes of joy in the first two months after i bought it and was all excited, it was all magical and beautiful. a few minutes of joy that i pursue for short time till the game reminds me about of all the others emotions that you can experience while playing overwatch, pretty much a drug, one that alot of people have been abusing lately.

but i could be wrong and nothing really matters, so whatevar.

The last thing this game needs is more toxicity towards teammates in comp. Personal stats at the end of a game would be amazing as you should always be focusing on how well you did and not look for a scapegoat to why the team lost. The most prominent reason for people not climbing is that they focus too much on how bad their team is doing and not their own gameplay, so enabling people to just blame others for loses would not be good for the competitive environment of the game.

I would just like an option to check my personal stats after each game. Some games are unwinnable if your teammates are throwing or feeding extra hard, but being able to check things like my kill/death ratio and aim percentage would let me know if I am personally improving. It could even be something I have to go to the replay screen to find, so it’s harder to access in-game.

Not to mention how much crappier a player plays as soon as they start to look for someone to blame and most of their attention is on being irritated instead of focusing on the game

and because they are entirely focused on being mad, they play much worse and can’t see the fact that they are probably losing due to their own irritation… making bad decisions and just playing for their personal score to justify their anger after the game with a “look at my score, it can’t be my fault that we lost at least”

I’ve played for well past 20 years of fps games and even in high elite long ago and I’ve seen it too many times and of course also done the same mistake myself… getting irritated early in the evening(usually because I was already mildly irritated at something before starting to play) and then the entire night is very mediocre playing

I don’t blame others anymore, sometimes it can be other players fault, but usually there are things that they haven’t learned yet so why should I blame them for not being on top of the world? Everyone has bad nights, especially those who blame others
