Why people keep jump while shooting? Please tell me… Do they think jump will make them harder to hit? But some people said jump make easier get hit. That true keep jumping make easier hit?
I think at this point it’s just a bad habit. Most people know that it doesn’t do much for most characters to make them harder to hit, but still do it just out of habit. I’m sometimes guilty of it myself… lol
Why not? They don’t get increased spread when they do.
So jumipng can make you more faster?
It is a bad habit. It is also a sign of weakness.
Its harder for you to aim, and;
It says to everyone around you that you’re in a state of panic, and consequently in a vulnerable position.
If you wanted to throw off the scent, don’t bunny hop, and if you have to do anything (like dodge a sniper), use crouch instead or wasd.
Old habits where jumping was beneficial in other games combined with the tendency to mirror what people around you do. Both are human nature and hard to stop.
Jump does make people harder to hit… in close range. It also gives you clearer headshots. But you shouldn’t be jumping for evasion beyond about 5m away.
What if I jump all the time anyways
Jump is useful at times. Depends on who you’re exchanging fire with, etc. Its all about trying to maximize your opponents misses. Sometimes ADAD crouch is good, sometimes jump is good, all depends.
You compromise your own aim but it can be worth.
Look at Tracer players. It’s better to lower your dps and deny them the one shot headshot than it is to try to maximize your own dps and get erased by a flick.
Some people jump to avoid headshots.
Yes. In fact, if you jump exactly 100 times and crouch exactly 23.5 times on any map with a payload, you will be moving SO FAST that you will get immediately teleported to a secret warp zone where you will be in god-mode above the map and you can actually control all the other players. Try it. I did this twice and my SR jumped 1000 points in 2 games.
Depends who I’m playing.
Lucio? I jump constantly.
Tracer? Almost never.
Jumping puts it you in a mostly fixed and very predictable movement arc. You’re better crouching or strafing
Some heroes need jump; lucio for example, his gun is so bad and his kit revolves around his wallride mobility so jumping is important, as it can latch you to a wall and change your speed/trajectory. Moira and Mercy are other examples, where they aren’t aim dependent and jumping while doing ADAD can make you ahrder to hit. Of course, the higher you go, the less helpful it is to jump because you’re in the air for a second at a time, where crouch can be toggled instantly.
I’m a support main, I’m always jumping. Mostly to avoid headshots from bad snipers/hitscan. At this point it’s such a habit that I do it even when not playing a healer lol.
I have been jumping in video games since Skyrim when the Jarl was saying something boring, and I have never stopped.
Overwatch is actually Minecraft in disguise
Doing that also puts you at risk for crosshair planting. There’s no easy fix to it.
True, you can never eliminate that risk, but you can reduce it by making yourself less predictable with your timings. You can’t do that while jumping.
Omg, I did literally the same thing! jumping on npcs heads is somewhat amusing
