Half a team fight? That’s a LONG time to be without your primary healer. That’s a lot of deaths that could have been prevented. It is VERY comparable to a charging rein. Making your team suffer just to use an ult you likely wouldn’t have needed to is not a great strat. All she’s doing is making it a 5v6 and hurting her own team’s quantity of ults. I can’t imagine how it worked for the pros but in the ladder it was a big no no

It’s not really predicting but more just being realistic, considering they’ve been saying they’re content with the state mercy is in since they reworked her. Not once have they said “we aren’t satisfied with the direction mercy is going in” they have constantly said they are satisfied and that they think the rework is successful. So with that considered it is highly unlikely that they would rework her again. I think that’s quite reasonable

Well to be fair the forums, YouTube etc. is not the entire playerbase, most of the player base never even visits the forums

They did indeed but we’ve had many times were they said they didn’t intend to change her in any way and then not long after nerfed her. It certainly isn’t their current plan but blizzard doesn’t have a history with Mercy of keeping their word.
Remember that not just the above but also they said they’d get rid of valk if the community was really unhappy with it and it didn’t work out. And they’d listen to feedback.

Now think about how the forums have been every day for the past year and few months and consider if the majority of Mercy players are indeed being listened to. Or are happy with it. Or that it was successful. Blizzard says things but really we have to take it with a huge grain of salt.

All that said from my point of view Valk will likely remain with us for at least quite some time so I’m playing other games at the moment.

Well there’s no evidence that the other playerbase that didn’t visit the forum likes the rework. There’s only evidence outside the forum and reddit that just a few streamers here and there that says mass res is unfun. And blizzard likes to listen to those streamers (read: seabird)

It always seems to be forgotten that hide and rez was a result of SR boosts to healers after it was proven that healers were getting a raw deal in previous seasons. Once they changed that and people realised you get maximum points for big ults and rez was easy to do, hide and rez became a thing, it did not exist to the extent it wasprior to the sr boost bonus. As soon as that happened it was prevalent everywhere. Sure you used to run for cover during an ult as Mercy but people werent sitting on rooftops of Nepal waiting for their team to die.

Junk SR scoring caused the mess. LoS change/cast time would have fixed the entire issue instead of the long road its gone down.

My point still stands. Mass res is removed just to please a group of players (or maybe a group of streamers). No evidence that most of the players hate mass rez and think it’s unfun. Btw, no, I don’t hate the rework because they removed mass res. I hate the rework because they introduce the slow down. Pushing for mass rez to come back just a means for me to ask for removing the slowdown from mercy kit. Because blizzard won’t remove res, period.

The thing that i consider the most unfun is the slowdown.

Actually, Mass Rez was DISHEARTENING to play against. Also, Rez was “Counter-intuitive” to Mercy’s play style as a main healer having to “leave” the fight. But DPS can leave the fight for periods at a time in order to ult. All of these reasons for a rework were hypocritical arguments, that apparently has flown over everyone’s head because the witch hunt convinced them that Mercy was the most broken hero in the game even though she was C-tier at best.

Devs didn’t want mass-rez because they didn’t want hide and rez, proof? They said that themselves.

Correct because it isn’t the DPS players job to stay with their team and heal them, with mercy it is. The job of the DPS is to do damage to the enemy team and they do not have to stay with their team in order to do that, in fact flanker heroes often play away from their team (see genji, tracer, doomfist, sombra, reaper etc) mercy has to stay with her team in order to heal them, hide and Rez went against her main job of healing the team. Also, with certain characters such as genji, reaper, etc their ults can be more effective with “the element of surprise” if you walk right up to the enemy team to dragon blade/ death blossom chances are you will die. It is better to not be seen before you ult as some DPS characters

I know what they said; I wrote it doesn’t make sense to say changes are not needed as long as the pros and developers are happy, because that would exclude the vast majority of the customers.

If that’s your point that Rez ult was only removed to appease a group of players/streamers then yes you do need to prove it, otherwise if you have no proof then it’s not true.
