Why matchmaking!?

You know the game is in a bad state when you go into three matches with 2-3 players all under level 100 while you and your friend are over level 600. It’s like the higher ranked players just buy OW on sale just to troll Quickplay, what’s up with that? When 2 players can hold bakc an entire team of 6, shouldn’t the game be actively avoiding that?

Qp matchmaking is extremely loose, mmr doesn’t really matter there. I suggest you play competitive if you want a chill experience.

Yea there’s pretty much always at least 1-2 players below level 100 in qm when my mate and I queue up, we’re both silver portrait so we wonder why it happens but at this point we couldn’t care less

How many times do people need it bore through their skull that account level doesn’t mean diddly. Yes it’s technically more likely to be a smurf, but it might not be and often actually isn’t unless it’s some cracked Widowmaker. Or they’re someone attempting to smurf but they’re so bad that they blame their team and act like they were the carry. (Seems common with Genjis) But the game doesn’t really give a crap about account level. Because it shows how much time you put into the game and nothing else. And even then it’s flawed at that due to xp disparity between those who commonly play in groups and those who don’t.

Neither quick play or Competitive MMR cares about their account level and how shiny their border is. And unless they’re some cracked Widowmaker or Tracer, you shouldn’t worry about it at all really. As long as they don’t start throwing games to drop MMR, they won’t stay in your MMR range for long.

So you think 2 players spawn trapping their entire team are unlikely to be smurfs just because they aren’t on Widowmaker? Uh huh… Well, that is an opinion and you are entitled to it!

I used them as an example because it’s very evident. And if you’re playing so badly that you’re trapped then the whole team has you to your backs, not just one or two of them.

say again?

I avoid comp and only play QP to relax lol, I don’t think I’ve ever heard anyone refer to comp as a “chill experience” or maybe you were joking and I didn’t realize lol

Huh?? Matchmaking is based on mmr….the only difference is you don’t have a SR restriction in QP……it’s still giving everyone a rating of their play

It depends on your rank, I suppose. But I prefer to play against plats and diamonds to GM if I am just trying to relax. I do not mind playing against higher rank players when I am in a competitive mood, however.

Qp is a warmer, or a learner for people.

Qp is like buying a game with a campaign part and never touch the online multi-player part.

Be sure to turn off all comms if you want “chill”…

Also, I dunno what it’s like now as I haven’t bothered with comp in a while, but I don’t remember it being any better matchmaking wise as there’s still a constant stream of alt/smurf/troll accounts passing through…
