Me and my bf are both in diamond and can win games easily in solo queue (or at least win 50% minimum) and yet when we play together in a 2 person party suddenly the games feel 10x harder and we’re lucky to win 1/10 matches. We even took a break from duo-queueing midgame today to do some solo games and we can win the vast majority of them but as soon as we duo queue together again winning feels impossible despite playing exactly the same?
One thing i have noticed is we seem to be put into a lot more high diamond/masters games when together despite us both being lower diamond. Is this intentional?

Often put against other duo or trios. Being in a 3-4 man pretty much guarantees being against groups. Tho being against more duo/trio increases the coordination the enemy has, plus a higher chance for smurfs in groups imo.
It puts stacks against higher mmr players to compensate for the advantage.

Many women getting boosted by diamond+ players in lower ranks.
So you’re facing legit smurfs queued with mercy’s more often.

What roles are you guys queueing for? I don’t have a lot of experience duo queueing in comp. but it might be better to play on different roles and as characters that synergize well together.
any chance you guys focus more on each other and less on the overall team when youre together?
You two need to learn each others playstyle, because having each other in your games is something that will be consistent, if you’re not synergising with each other you WILL lose more than you win, because with solo queuing there’s a possibility you will naturally synergise with someone, or the entire team, but duo queuing takes away this possibility
Player population drops off drastically in Diamond, I often get chucked back and forth between Plat and Masters games, sometimes it’s rare for me to even get an actual Diamond game, despite being Diamond
