Why is Valkyrie still in the game?

It’s one of the worst ults in the game. It doesn’t out heal anything with her 50hps. It’s not fun. It’s a glorified spectator mode. The only thing fun is chasing done an enemy with your pistol which you shouldn’t be doing because she’s suppose to be a strong solo target healer, not a dps. It doesn’t give Mercy anything “special” to her.
Free flight? Heyyy Pharah.
AoE heals? Hola Lucio, Moira, Ana, and Zen ult.
AoE damage boost? Longtime no see Orisa ult.

If the scrapped Valkyrie back in alpha, who thought it was a good idea to bring it back?

Because other characters than Mercy should be getting changes, and especially since she isn’t in a bad spot. She just came off from being meta for 7 seasons and know she isn’t meta she needs to be meta for some reason.

We already know that those heroes are getting changes. I don’t see anything wrong with wanting changes for a different hero.

Valkerie is meant to be an initiate ultimate. For example your team gets a pick and you use valk. Its still a good ultimate and way better than orisa supercharger. And there is much worst ultimates out there such as death blossom,barrage,deadeye, ect.

If players would realize there are 20+ characters and use them all there wouldn’t be a meta. But it’s the same 6 characters always being used. Can you say BORING?

I mean yes but would you rather have the same gameplay for over 6 months rather than something new every two months?

Just because other characters need changes doesnt mean mercy doesnt. If you wanna talk about making changes to other heroes, pls feel free to do so. No one is stopping you, especially since no one is saying mercy should be fixed before any other hero.

Every match should be different. But everyone seems to think you play X and it can only be countered by Y. Opponent is playing Z so we need T to counter.

Consider this though, if valk was Mercys alpha ability, that means the others actually copied her.

In lieu of bigger, more direct impact, Valkyrie is intended to be a sustained ultimate that can adapt to changing circumstances quickly. It’s best to consider it as the Swiss knife of ultimates in the way that Mercy can use it for various means – keeping the team healed through non-ultimate tier damage, damage boosting her team through a choke, quickly changing position and aiding separated allies, keeping herself alive, etc.

It’s a good ultimate but so many people see “free flight” and think “holding space bar is the only thing I can do.” Very unfortunate because I really like Valkyrie and using the Guardian Angel to swoop around and monitor the battlefield while providing constant and big support to my allies. It’s really not that bad of an ultimate if you actually use it where you’re meant to.

Best places to use Valkyrie is before the other ultimates come out, allowing Mercy and her team to get better prepared for an upcoming fight and have an immediate advantage. It’s also great for when battles become hectic and difficult to follow, and Mercy might find herself needing to be two supports in one, especially if the other support got picked off. Using it to try and counter Rocket Barrages or Dragonblades won’t net you anything because it’s not Transcendence or Sound Barrier, it’s Valkyrie and needs to be used as such.

That’s all Valkyrie really is. you practically fly up to the sky box and either press M1 or M2 and let the chained beams do the work.

See the next time you use Valkyrie, shift + space to an ally and then hold space for the rest of the ultimate. You’ll start to see how useless the mobility that it provides is.

This is insanity. Which ult has it’s optimal use AFTER you already have the advantage.
This is absolute confirmation that Valk is mostly useless and a winmore ult at best.
