Some players will remember a long time ago that there was a patch which removed all melee animation cancels. This was initially to remove Genji’s RMB + Melee + Dash combo, and the devs took one step further to make it universal, and made it so that all heroes could not use offensive/mobility abilities to cancel their melee.
This was of course, an exception for Blizzard’s poster girl Tracer. Using her melee does not prevent her from using her blink. The availability of this combo often encourages lazy aiming, because people can always blink forwards to deal the last 30 damage anyway.
What was the reason for this blatant inconsistency, and can we expect it to be fixed?
Quite a few movement abilities don’t have animations, such as Winston’s leap or Pharah’s jetpack. You can use melees or other abilities during them.
But obviously Tracer favouritism amirite. Orisa can do this https://gfycat.com/BriefGleamingDipper but Tracer being able to melee during an animationless ability is pure favouritism.
I’m getting tired of all the new kinds of excuses people use to hate Tracer.
The same melee-mobility CAN be applicable for DVa. Go check out KarQ’s “1 DVa tip for every hero” video, featuring Emongg. That is actually the general tip he gives for people.
Time to come up with something reasonable, Tracer haters. I know it might be hard for you guys to be rationale, but give it a go!
