Literally every single time, this is the response if they’re actually cheating. Literally.
I’d almost venture it’s guaranteed that if they respond to accusations of cheating with this, they’re cheating.
Typically people that aren’t cheating will explain and be like “I was just spy checking and you happened to be there” or “lucky shot” or “check replay”, or they just won’t respond at all.
People that are actually cheating, for real, will literally only say “ur just bad” and variations of it with less kind words.
I don’t have a replay code because it hasn’t happened within my recently played, I just remembered I wanted to make a post about this.
cheaters dont like being called out and often its better to not call them out and report them…honestly there has been matches ive played i suspect someone was a cheater
I like to bring attention to it so that they actually get their comeuppance, though I do ask people to watch the replay and decide for themself. I don’t just go “johnny555 cheating report them”. fake name
I think I had a cheater in my game exactly once like 2-3 years ago, a Sombra with very sus tracking. I can’t recall if they said anything.
Obviously make sure to check the replay before you file that report, and you seem to know that, but cheaters are just out to ruin peoples’ day, so that’s probably why they would respond with “ur bad Lmao” sort of sentences
It’s impossible for the community to prove someone is cheating or not cheating. There are indicators from gameplay appearing unnatural that highly suggest someone’s cheating but it’s not 100%. The only people that can confirm it are Blizzard by detecting cheat software. If you think someone’s cheating just report them and let the developers handle it. Kind of like that ancient post of Kaplan pointing out a cheater’s multiple offenses on the forum.
Because it’s annoying when people constantly accuse you of cheating… especially because a lot of people use it as a reason to excuse their failure to win or contribute.
I’ve never told people they’re bad… but I understand the response.
Someone directly saying “I think so and so is cheating!” is , by and large, what someone who cannot figure out why they keep getting put down will say.
However if I hear “wow, their Mccree has some crazy aim”. or “that widow does not miss!” , most of the time I WILL review the replay and yeah… it’s some sus business.
Yes, cheaters will respond with more toxicity in general because they KNOW they’re cheating and someone who would use cheats is already disregarding everyone else in the game as NPCs to be taken advantage of. But that’s not the only reason someone would respond poorly to the accusation.
If they’re cheating their comeuppance ultimately manifests in a ban, getting called out by a random in game chat doesn’t do much and actually creates toxicity at worst.
As someone who’s been “called out” myself “lol” is my normal response. That doesn’t mean I’m cheating,
Trust that if someone is cheating, other players will notice. Let them make the call on their own. Or say something like “damn cree is crazy with their shot placement” something that puts them on alert without making a hard accusation.
“They missed a shot. They’re not hacking”
“They’re GM5. They’re not hacking”
“They haven’t killed me as [hero]. They’re not hacking”.
“It was just luck. They’re not hacking”.
“They’re playing projectile. You can’t hack on projectile.”
“You can’t hack on Hanzo/junkrat/mercy/ana/dva/rein/tracer/genji/ etc.”
“They died. They’re not hacking”.
The anti-hacker copium is real in ow2.
It’s very obvious when someone is hacking based on how they aim and their positioning / skill usage. So when 90% of the player base doesn’t understand these concepts to begin with, they’ll never be able to wrap their head around that some guy is ximming or using ESP to diff them.
The amount of players using ESP and other information hacks is becoming extremely concerning, and has gotten significantly worse since sombra rework made her more popular.
Most video games are living in 2014 before AI. AI is making cyber security a living nightmare, and video game companies are feeling it more than anyone. Sadly this problem will only get worse as the AI revolution continues and companies like Blizzard remain stagnant on their anti cheat and fall too far behind.
So why is it that no matter what happens, players always point to the obvious viral examples of cheating, but can’t seem to supply their own evidence that is as damning as they claim it is?
You point out anecdotes disproving cheaters, but where is the proof backing up the claims of cheating in the same videos? Like if those replays do show cheaters then it’s your responsibility to explain, teach and convince us on what we’re missing.
I’ve seen the most hacks when playing Sombra.
And I mean blatant stuff like they didn’t know I was anywhere near them while invis, they lock onto my head and headshot me.
Sometimes that IS accurate though. I knew a lot of people that boosted accounts, some were just good players, some cheated. There are a lot more cheats out there than the average person might think. Some of you really get nuts with thinking you have a cheater every single game.
I don’t want to be mean, but you’re making complaint threads about throwers in that Battle of the Beasts mode. You’ve talked about going on record-setting losing streaks. It seems like you have a lot of problems that are outside of the game - and that’s not to say OW2 doesn’t have a truckload of problems.
As much as it is “yep, no way you made that shot fairly, cheater.”
I’ve gotten three pieces with Widow and accused of cheating. They were in fact just bad players not reacting to me or the kill feed information.
Blatant cheating is super obvious when you see a replay with the hero doing things not even pros pull off.
There’s also people that are good or just so bad at aimbot that you aren’t sure.
The stats and the cheater super nuking their counter, or getting ult insanely fast is the fastest way to tell.
I give a player the benefit of the doubt because I’ve been called a cheater and a xim player when it’s more like “I changed my settings so I can snap aim with snipers and Reaper”
