Because balancing is a very delicate process?
On a serious note, I don’t really know. The process of balancing seems extremely slow. You’d think by now there would be enough statistics to understand where to go next with the balancing process, however some of the recent balancing changes have been a bit questionable. Sometimes they seem to take a step forward with something and then two steps backwards.

They do. But how much? And at that point does that make them too weak to be played without each other? And how does that stop them from still being optimal to be played together?

This is the most likely. They were hoping the game would be more easily balanced once 2-2-2 came around. Unsurprisingly it is not. They simply traded one meta for another.

Mhm, double barrier was never an issue till sigma came along. Rein and orisa generally were not great together outside of bastion comps. Personally instead of just nerfing the crap out of sigma and orisa, id rather comps be limited to 1 shield tank only, but that further limits what people can pick. So I really dont see an easy solution to the double barrier problem.

Probably waiting for a time where it won’t draw attention from other ongoing events. Probably get one after league finals, but before Halloween Terror.
At worst we probably looking at Blizzcon when they reveal new stuff.

Orisa was broken alone already…
Rein and Orisa don’t really have a synergy, because Orisa is stationary, and Rein has no range.
Yeah I can Definitely tell you if Orissa is nerfed rein will just supply the second Sheild.
Nerfing both might MIGHT do it , or just start with sig as he is the enabling factor to double shield . ( as rein and him work , just not as much as him and Orissa . )
They come out on Tuesdays usually.

Orisa has to be nerfed too. She dominated the game with bunker too.
Hmmm I then worry that rein and Zarya would have a monopoly on the best tank combo as before . But yes she has seemed incredibly strong since role lock came , so that may add up
I agree, but I still dont see an easy solution to get rid of the current problem. I do want it changed.
I wouldn’t nerf barriers tho because they risk to make shield tanks too weak and unfun to play, so next you’ll only see off tanks being played and again we’ll be stuck in a forced meta.
What i think they should do is nerf them in some other way, maybe nerf orisa’s speed to what it was a few months ago, nerf sigma’s damage a bit more, or maybe nerf the personal shields he gets when he absorbe damage.
I also think they should take a look at the other tanks, because that’s the main problem, they’re too weak right now compared to sigma and orisa.
Orisa started being better after the armor nerf because she’s a high rate fire hero and with her fortify ability she can protect herself better than others, especially against doom and mei.
So what i would do is revert the armor nerf for the tanks, take a look at winston but i really don’t know how they could make him better without making him too op.
Maybe give him a shorter cooldown on his jump? Or shield? I don’t know, but for sure i would keep his damage the same, otherwise he’ll be too annoying to deal with since he can zap more than one enemy at once.
Dva needs some help because now she’s a giant walking potato and i sigh whenever i have one on my team, while being really happy when i see her in the enemy team.
I’d probably nerf her rocket damage or increase her cooldown, but i would buff her matrix again in exchange.
Hog isn’t that bad i think, nor zarya, even tho her beam nerf was really harsh, but i do also realise that she was strong before, so i don’t really know.
Hammond’s stall power is too strong and he could be easily become a must pick in the future. Maybe nerf his personal shield?

Im not sure. Rein and sigma seem okay together, but dunno if it would be better than like rein zarya, or sigma zarya, or orisa hog again. All under the assumption orisa sigma isnt top anymore.
Even if there is one, the next patch is next month.
