I have an issue with the new skins coming out through OWL. I have a friend who, at the moment, does not have access to a PC for awhile now and cannot get the new Widowmaker skin, and I really would like to purchase it for them, but of course, there is only purchasing through tokens and not the skin itself. When Pink Mercy was around, you could gift the skin to people, so why are we unable to gift skins like that as well? They’re a Widow player, and they really want the skin but cannot get it. Why can’t it be giftable or bought through Battlenet/Blizzard websites? Can Blizzard set this up finally?
Yeah, gifting tokens with “quick, buy the skin before it expires” …just feels so wrong .
I would rather gift the skin… Especially since gifts come super late from my experience (once I had to wait 4 days).
Make 5 accounts
Launch OWL on 5 devices
Collect tokens
Sent to main account
???
Profit
Except each acc is 20ish dollars.
Watching OWL gives 5 tokens/hour = 0.37 dollars worth of tokens/hour. For this to be profitable you’d have to stream 60 hours of OWL per account. Kind of worth it in the long run I guess?
OWL skins should be back in OW2 in form of shop (most likely).
How about you log into your friend’s account with their permission and purchase it from there directly? That’s the only workaround I can think of.
Gifting BattleNet balance is the only method these days because of security and marketing reasons.
My advice to you is to invite your friend over to log on to your PC and they can purchase the skin from there.
Not likely actually. We expect future opportunities to purchase past OWL legendary skins to have second chances based on Jon Spector’s comment in the Reddit AMA, but we expect them to still be purchased for OWL tokens only.
That´s what I meant xD
I’m sure your friend could send a support ticket to Blizzard and ask them to buy the skin for them if they have enough OWL points or Battle.net monies.
You could always log in on your friend’s account, you’re probably not gonna hack them. Probably.
