ive introduced a friend to OW2 recently and am wanted to play ranked with him. ive been able to crossplay with him in unranked however this doesnt work in ranked. is this a feature or am i missing smthing?
A feature. Something they decided on and explained at the start. A GM console player, isn’t going to have fun in a GM pc lobby for example.
That being said, most high ranked console players use XIM and stuff… So maybe it wouldn’t be that bad.

To be honest there isn’t much difference in GM (or many of the ranks) these days, and good players will usually transition from one to the other whilst retaining similar rank. I think it’s better to keep separate for other reasons though.
What I think would be cool is allowing cross play in open queue and/or wide grouping.

That might be a good start.
The only way the could do a full cross play now would be with a complete hard reset. But that’s a terrible idea.

I think there should just be an option for ranked crossplay that you can turn on and off in settings or the comp tab tbh. They could test it for a season or something and see how it goes.
