If you have the technology to censor it, why not just ban them for using it?
Just in the past two days I’ve seen 4 slurs be used in team chat and none of the reports I sent caused any bans. What benefit is there to players being allowed to send the n and f slur?

It should be a temporary mute with increasing consequences at the very least.

People will find a way to bypass the ban, or to trick people into saying it.
Like, for example, you censor the N word. A troll sees this and trick people into typing Nigeria into the text box, and that trigger the ban.
This has happened in Siege, where people trick others into getting a ban for typing in the name of the country of Nigeria. But hey, it has been years since, maybe they have updated their system.

Isnt the filter enabled by default? You would have to go out of your way to disable it to see what word it is.

How do you trick someone into typing “Nigeria”? And even so, couldn’t they have an edge case for that specific word?

It’s because you have the option to mute and block players.

I don’t remember, but it was something along the line of a very mundane “Do you know” or “What country” question.
I think they updated their system, but I haven’t been in Siege in a while since I don’t have the proper spec for it.
bc its a silly word in the internet people will keep saying it with different spelling and you will get super offended every time. get a grip

5 years from now why no auto ban for anyone doesn’t say gg at the end of every game
10 years from now why no auto ban for anyone who doesn’t say hello or hi at the beginning of the match
btw the chat censor so many normal words do you know why? bc the game have extreme soft people think any word that is not nice is a bad word.

The problem is spelling. You can try to ban the mixed up spelling versions, but then you get the occasional false ban.

Mostly because Automatic Bans are dumb and those filters can easily be bypassed.
Also theres way worse things you can say that dont imply certain words that should be actioned upon before someone saying 1 word that is really bad in your country.

as much as we talk about this it will make people more sensitive and make the toxic people more toxic and also punishing the wrong people the innocent people who said nothing bad they get all the punishment

how are innocent people being punished in this scenario? if you don’t use a slur you don’t get punished. it’s that easy

innocent people who never say anything bad but they use the chat to say normal things very normal thing like don’t nano me nano monkey you will get report and its automatic system there is no real people reviewing every single report to see its true or false you reach some amount of reports then you get punished. you will reach it fast if there is group in the game bc 1 dishonest player will tell his friends in the group to report you.
and they see its working so they keep doing it and over time they call anything normal a toxic behavior. i swear i was reported just bc the enemy doesn’t like me killing him and he say something in the chat and i typed “Funny” boom 6 reports next day warning.
everyone who play OW solo will get unfair punishment if he try to use the text chat. if you are solo player you are not allowed to use the chat. if you are solo player you need to worship group players and never use the chat until they give you permission. toxic people are mainly playing in group and they never get punishment even tho i think the toxicity in OW is very low we have bad situation now that make everything normal to look toxic.

Why not have every person select if they want censorship or not in the options?
Then the sensitive babies can censor bad words while people with a spine can just communicate however they want to.
