Queueing for DPS/supp tonight, hit 6 games in a row on DPS because supp queue is longer, typical.
Of those 6 games, I’ve had 2 games where neither support healed, or only healed the tank despite us DPS being right beside/infront/near them. Third game was duo supports who only healed each other. 4th game I actually got some pretty good supports. 5th game they weren’t good, but they tried at least so I count that. 6th game right into DPS-only Moira, lowest heals in the game by 4k. Only ultied to kill, not even trying to hit teammates at the same time. My LW barely beat the non-healing Moira. I think he tried to keep the tank up and that’s it.
What is with the sabotage?? Why are so many of y’all cluttering the support to queue to simply not even try to play the role.
What rank are you in? I’m guessing diamond at least right?
The problem is you can’t balance heroes which are based around team play (you know like support, it’s… kinda in the name) with heroes which are less about team play.
And have people try to play them the same amount at all ranks.
Supports will feel better to play, in ranks where people, you know, do team play, since they are built for that. So people will queue for them more often.
And Blizzard for their sins, need supports to still be queued heavily in mid ranks (you know, gold), and so they have to balance so they are played there.
It means in higher ranks, they will be played more, and queue times will reflect this.
As for why people are DPSing on support. You balance so damage is stronger than healing, and people damage rather than heal.
Could just be an unlucky string of tilted people doing weird things.
Assuming it’s not, it might have something to do with people feeling like a lot of the supports are just dps but better. That’s going to attract people to the role who aren’t really bothered about healing their team, they just want to play the thing that feels stronger and shoot at the enemy team with that.
Side effect of role queue; balancing within each role rather than balancing around the whole cast is going to create at minimum the feeling that one role is stronger than another, and people will react to that. Though intentionally not healing at all is weird, most people don’t go that far. I’d assume it’s more likely tilt.
This is odd since it is completely counter to my experience. Every time I flex, I get tank or support. There is even bribe BP bonus for queueing for support. Today, I saw queue times for QP, and is was <1 min for tank and support, and 4m for DPS.
This has been consistent for quite some time.
Edit: Just logged in to check, and now support has the shortest queue time.
I’m not confused why support is longest. I’m asking why people are clogging it up to essentially straight up troll.
So…like, you know, no one doubts why supps are DPS’ing, more like…you know, why that’s all like…so many are like, doing, man. And nothing, like, else…it’s, like, sabotage.
See, I’ve heard some people say different things about it. Some people have longer supp queue times, others say it’s still dps. Idk if it’s a regional thing or something…? I have no idea. But support is always longest in QP for me every single day for eons now. Sometimes they all might say <1m for all 3.
For comp for me, it flip flops between dps and support of who has the longer queue. Depending on the time of day, though I don’t play a ton of comp so I don’t always look at it too much.
Well, maybe they got to the support rank they have by DPSing with them.
When I got an account from Silver to Diamond on Moira, I was DPSing my booty off.
I had a 70% win rate, and was being told I was throwing, like… every game. I didn’t know playing a style which got me 70% win rate was throwing but I guess you learn something new every day.
This is why I was like “You balance so damage is stronger than healing, and people damage rather than heal.”
Literally the game is training people to play like this.
Do I think it is dumb? oh HELL yes. Do I think the players are just following what Blizzards balancing style had been? also yes (sadly)
Because these pepegas are so bad at the game, that they can’t even have a grasp on the easiest role in the game. Hence, they are yapping for no reason due to their skill issue.
Well I asked about the title because it’s in QP, I’m not playing comp tonight. Frustrating in QP playing vs supports doing both dps/supporting/healing with supports who are, for some reason, actively ignoring us in several games. Makes trying to do anything in QP a feral PITA when it seems like 2 people on your own team are actively working against us. Like bro I’m RIGHT INFRONT OF YOU and get ignored, it’s wild.
It’s possible to do both and not just outright ignore your teammates, you know? Not that all of them tonight were even DPS’ing. I watched a juno and lucio literally do nothing but sit ontop of our dva all game pumping heals into her, left other dps and I out to dry completely. Watched kiri and someone just only heal our hog. Then the duo-queue who only healed each other.
Last game was one of those typical ones where it’s just mercy pocketing her friend all game. Straight up unfun to play with these people who also make playing supp take forever.
It is! QP has always been kind of annoying like that, but gooooooooooooooooooood it feels so much worse in ow2. Would be nice to get on with DPS in QP without having to drag any accounts through competitive mud to be able to play it. and NONE AT ALL. This is the only online game where friends seems impossible. League? No problem! CSGO? 99% of my steam friends are from CSGO. FFXIV? yes. My husband used to play but he hates this game and won’t play it anymore.
That’s what I was thinking in that game too, lol. I’ve seen a lot of different lucios, rarely see sights where one is joined at the hip of dva. They all 3 just sat on the payload all game, very bizarre game.
Because DPS role are so weak now compared to support, who doesn’t want to have a lot of get-out-of-jail-free card or ult busters abilities, hyper mobility, self heal and still able to deal tons of dps?
