The game mode itself is sick and I have played a ton, I love it a lot. This topic is only about the aesthetic choice of being some kind of game show.
It’s not like it’s bad, I just wonder what the reason is. There can’t be an in universe reason for it to be a tournament of champions on a game show. Why not frame it as them needing to adapt to new challenges in the next era of battle?
Also, actually one proper downside, I don’t like the announcer… I miss Athena. “ThE bEsT tO eVeR dO iT”
And the map aesthetic being like a set for Total Wipeout is weird. I suppose they felt like it needed that unique spin but I’m not really vibing with it that much.

Well, I do have to wonder if it’s because they gave up on ‘Ramattra trying to take over the world and exact revenge for the suffering of his people’, so they just decided to do a complete U turn.
If they really wanted to be authentic, they’d have the lights go out randomly, then the silence be broken by dramatic music and evil foppish laughter.

Isn’t it kinda messed up that Nepal is like some serious religious temple and they’re just hosting bloodsports there?

It’s fine, it’s only a sacred temple for some dumb robots. What a bunch of dumb robots. Ha ha ha!

it’s framed as an event people are watching in a stadium.
It’s a mishmash of Smite/Deadlock , Smite has a lot of announcer options.
Maybe the devs liked that?
It’s have to do with psychological marketing tactics as well , wait till they monetise new caster voices , rein caster voice ,dva caster voice for stadium. People will flood in to buy those
