Every hero in the game can cancel his/her reload animation with a melee attack except Reaper. Even Widowmaker, who is a sniper, can melee cancel her reload.
Why is Reaper, a close range hero, unable to cancel his reload animation with a melee attack?
That’s 30 damage Reaper can’t deal with a melee attack if he quickly wants to finish the enemy if he’s out of ammo.
(And yes, I know about his reload with Wraith Form.)

Wait, doesn’t he drop his shotguns to reload? It’d be hard to use a melee shotgun hit without your weapons.

That’s true, but even then do I find it weird he can’t cancel is reload animation like every other character in the game. Especially because he’s a close range hero.
But you are probably right. I guess it doesn’t make much sense to suddenly have guns in his hands when he melee attack.

Solution: Reaper melees with bare hands if he’s reloading. It does the same damage as any other melee, but he automatically finishes reload after it.
He can. After dropping his shotguns he can melee instead of reaching for his pockets in search of new shotguns and still reload.

Reaper can melee cancel his reload the instant he drops his shotguns.
