Why is reaper a "Tank Killer"

He does LESS damage to armor, doesn’t he?
It takes forever for him to kill a rein, and realistically, your team will see him and use one of their 300 stuns to send him back to “not widow, hanzo, or ashe” tier real quick.

Well, his headshots still do a lot to armor, and once he punches through the armor he eats their health pools alive. Plus lifesteal, and pellets meaning tanks are easier to hit.

Though after his nerfs he’s not a buster anymore, and tbh even before that he didnt really bust anymore because of all the armor buffs and such.

Reaper can kill Rein in 4 shots, which takes approximately 1.5-2 seconds assuming you’re hitting point blank headshots.

Point blank body shots into his back takes 8 shots to kill him, which is still only 3-4 seconds assuming he doesn’t receive any additional damage or healing from other sources. McCree is probably the only DPS that can kill Rein Faster (fan the hammer and roll) or just as fast with 4 headshots. The difference here is that McCree can do it from a longer range, but with less survivability and that to kill Rein as fast as Reaper, he has to hit perfect 4x dink which is more mechanically demanding, or he has to use his only movement ability aggressively.

I’ve said for a long time that McCree is just a better Reaper in the hands of a mechanically gifted player, but if your aim isn’t all that hot, Reaper is definitely the best tank killer in the game. Reaper also busts through shields a lot more consistently than McCree too, so there’s that to consider.
