Why is /r/Overwatch so uncaring of the game?

Every time i try to have a normal discussion about an issue within the game, people have to start talking about irrelevant things, twist my words and even misinterpret everything i say.

Is the actual forum any better? Last time i came here it was quite bad but this was back in early 2017.

That is par for the course on almost any gaming forum. Or sports forum. Or fan fiction forum.

These kinds of places for discussion … kind of devolve into circlejerks at one point or another, and it is all for the gratification of a given franchise, not any particular greater good.

Curious about how your words were twisted or what kind of stuff you were posting about on Reddit?

The Overwatch subreddit is among the worst places to have a discussion.

I find the Nudge plugin for Chrome helps with that quite a bit: “Sorry, you can’t include links in your posts.”

I mainly post on how everything in the reportables list is slowly becoming irrelevant and people abuse everything on the list continuously yet its obvious they are not getting banned with the frequency said person do it and how high level they are which defines their playtime.

Twisting my words. I made a point where people should be reported if its obvious they are not playing with the team, they choose to not switch when its clear they are being hard countered and they are not doing anything (And yes we can play what we want but when its the most incompatible thing they could choose, id think it would come to common sense that they are going to ruin everyone’s experience and their own and they wont be learning anything from it so even the practise excuse cant be used). They basically reply to that with -> One-tricks are not bannable -> I wasnt talking about One-Tricks and even at that, even they switch quite a lot of times.

r/Overwatch is not a good place for talking about state of the game. It is not a subreddit for that.

Try r/CompetetiveOverwatch

I deleted the reddit post before coming here since it was clear it was going nowhere.

That subreddit is actual literal garbage

It seems these days, all reddit is, is a place for the more uneducated people to go for basic advice. I follow a lot of programming and PC building subreddits and some of the posts i see are seriously dumb because its like they have put in the effort to make the post but have not put in the effort to find the answer for themselves without going on the internet.

I just visit this place for the memes

I mean it is a good meme source still.

*The best

So are the forums.

I think its long overdue for Blizzard to make the rules for Overwatch and the forums much harsher.
It kinda feels like a war of the mature and immature and the immature are winning.

r/overwatchuniversity is WAY better for discussions about the game. r/overwatch is basically for D.Va’s in silver posting their 5K bombs that no one saw and bad memes.

Ill have a look at it, never even heard of it.

EDIT: I have been saying everything in this post for years and everyones just ignored me… Glad to see some people acknowledge such things.

And this was on /r/overwatchuniversity , one of the first posts in fact.

Good joke …

Reddit thinks everything is fine with OW and we just need to “get good” unless a pro streamer or league player speaks out then they quickly shift their opinions.
