Im like gold 4. Why is it when I do quick play I keep getting matched against people who have the Master Role Challenger and Grandmaster Role Challenger? Myself and my team just get destroyed every single time. I thought QP was casual, its just not fun constantly going up against people who are way better than you and getting destroyed.
Is it too much to ask that they just match me up against people of my similar skill level for quickplay? Honestly just kind of confused as to why is this even happening? I am not even with a group.

Because that GM on the other team is grouped with a Gold 4. The probably system tried to put a GM on your team as well. If there wasnât one on your team, it probably couldnât find one. Or they left and the matchmaker threw in whoever it could find.
Thereâs no strict matchmaker for QP.
That player was likely in a group with someone of a lower rank. Since there are no MMR restrictions in quickplay, you could theoretically have a top500 and a bronze 5 player in the same group/same game. Thereâs unfortunately no way to create a completely fair match, but it has to try its best.
Because they still havenât fired Morgan Maddren
End of season, top tier players start to relax and play QP, group with their low tier friends. Thats why you see so many well coordinated stacks recently.
Itâs been half a decade of players asking these matches to be fixed. Itâs probably just that they donât have the software team to figure out how they could possibly have millions of active players yet not be able to match even teams against each other without breaking the matchmaking queue times. The more likely answer to that is that the GM player bought the BP or some cosmetics so they gave them some stomp games to make them feel good or something along those lines

You should read the acti-blizz matchmaking patent.
Sections 37-39.

Yep thatâs my belief. Microtransaction based matchmaking, particularly in qp.

According to activision blizzard patents on match making. The match maker isnât designed to give you a fair match, it is designed to give paying players an advantage. You might notice that people with store bundles usually get higher rank and generally better teammates.
Yeah I noticed the same. Especially at midnight.
We switched up the schedule so I can actually have fun with my partner in the beginning of the evening.
Blizzard is really clueless when it comes to matchmaking in QP. We would rather wait 8 minutes and have a fun balanced match (we donât even have to win) instead of this insufferable crap after 15 seconds.
A solo queue would also do wonders for when playing solo.

So the bored GM can take a dump on low skilled players. There is no other reason for this.

âplay with players of your skill levelâ my behind.
QP values lower queue times over actually matching skills. If you want a closer match, play comp.
Not saying I agree with it, just saying it like it is. If they tightened the matchmaking in QP, theyâd probably have less leavers. But then queue times might go up a few minutes. So it would negate the âquickâ portion of the play. Really no good answer. Some would be willing to sacrifice time to have a better matched game, like me. Others just want it as fast as possible.
QP has become more like comp lite though, so I just donât really play it anymore. Iâd rather not deal with the whiners that complain about their âexperience being ruinedâ by others in QP, while they are afraid to play in comp because theyâd place low bronze and how dare anyone (even the game itself) tell them they arenât as good as they think they are.
