Less than 10k viewers continually. Why don’t streamers want to stream the game? Why don’t viewers want to watch the game? Beta for OW2 with a new hero just dropped a week ago!
because people would rather play than watch
would you want to play checkers or watch someone play checkers
A few reasons
-
Game is old. There may be hype around the sequel, but it’s a ways off still.
-
All of the streamers are playing a build of the game that will be obsolete by next quarter. Half of them are playing a build that will will be obsolete in two weeks.
-
OWL is playing a build different than anyone else has access to for the second (comp) season in a row.
-
The top 10 streams are usually in queue watching Hells Kitchen or whatever.
Ultimately Overwatch is in a weird limbo right now where players and fans want to care, but the producers are making it very difficult to do so.
I like to both watch and play games I’m interested in. I don’t see why those are mutually exclusive in your mind.
Because there is no comp so no stakes. It is just not fun to watch QP over and over again.
Because OW1 is legit “dead game”, and OW2 doesn’t have Comp.
Due to Blizzard’s bungling Overwatch is seen as a dead game. To the outside observer Overwatch 2 is basically the same game as Overwatch 1 so no one gives a crap.
Low population and general lack of interest from the masses. People saying it’s because of lack of comp are in denial. Modern Warfare 2 will draw massive numbers when the beta drops because people still like CoD. OW hasn’t been popular for 2 or 3 years now and OW2 has done nothing to bring players back or attract new ones.
I mean anyone who expected OW2 to play drastically different than OW1 has never played an FPS sequel in their lives. That complaint is merely an excuse.
The true question is why does a game with a healthy population, which OW does have, struggle on Twitch and the two top reasons are: no comp for OW2 and queue times for OW1.
OW doesn’t have a healthy population. It has 20 minute queue times and I see the same players every time I log on. Just because you can find a match doesn’t mean the game is doing well. You can find matches in other relatively dead games like BF2042 and Halo Infinite too.
then do you think everyone who wants to play checkers wants to watch someone play checkers
Queue times have nothing to do with population. OW could have a daily peak population of 50 million (compared to the 500-700k it currently has) and the queue times would not change because queue times are about ratios.
Right now OW has a monthly unique user number of between 5-7 million (depending on if an event is happening) and a daily peak of between 500-700k (this one is per outside estimates) and both of these numbers represent a healthy population.
Why is OW dead on twitch? Why are viewercount andy’s so obsessed with things like this? The world may never know.
you think people want to watch a game they cant play? I dont know why T4 is confused about this
Lmao BF2042 is WAY more dead than OW, its not even a comparison. And COD is trash, the only thing keeping it going is Warzone because its a battle royal, id hardly call COD a healthy game
Because popular streamers are streaming something else

And COD is trash
Trash is still better than whatever the hell OW2 is.
Youre just a hater, why are you even here if you dont like the game. All your posts are just hate lol
Overwatch 2 killed his grandma
The game is just hard to follow. As people get better the harder it is to follow. When you are actively playing the game you know what you want to do and control yourself. When watching others you don’t so, it is hard to read what is happening.
Reason it is harder than Valorant is because there is more action.
