There are plenty of balance issues across different SR-ranges. Blizzard need to realise this and try get a solution that works in all ranges.
Bugs that have been since launch.
Nerfing and Reworking Heroes that don’t need it.
Toxicity, which I mainly believe is caused by Blizzard themselves. Their game design is frustrating and it makes people take out that frustration.
Bad game design when it comes to lootboxes and arcade.
Matchmaking is an absolute joke.
Today I decided to play Overwatch, I start with an Arcade game of No Limits. Enemy team decided to go all Moira, my team decided to selfishly play Heroes that are to no help against Moiras. After asking my team to pick Heroes like D.va to counter Moira they picked Mei, but not to counter the Moiras, they switched to Mei to ice-wall their teammates. How fun.
After that game was over I went over to Competitive. Somehow my team had 3 level 30-40’s that insta-lock DPS. How are they even in high-plat/diamond, Blizzard? One decided to pick Tracer and thought it was a good idea to be in the front line, even in front of our Reinhardt. We also had a Genji who tried to snipe with his shurikens instead of flanking. And then a Soldier who tried the mest out of the 3, just unable to do enough because they were low level with barely any skill which is understandable. The only thing that is not understandable is why they are in that SR-range.
And this just brings back how bad the competitive ranks are in this game.
Why are newbies put together with experienced players? Why are they in ranks they should not be in at all?
Then we have the forums
There are probably plenty of issues I haven’t included above, but frankly I can’t really be bothered to make a too advanced thread. Moronic people are going to come in here and argue different topics out of context or completely irrelevant too. Or comment with incorrect information. Or just spam. And regarding some topics, like threads regarding Arcade where people are complaining about how people aren’t playing properly. I have noticed that on NA people don’t take Arcade seriously but on EU they do. So EU players with one experience are arguing with NA players who have another experience. I don’t know, this entire game and community is just broken.
I probably speak for more users when I say that it will be so nice when new games start releasing. So we can leave this awful game that seem to never get fixed.
This is what I’m talking about, people who completely disregard the entire thread to start an argument. I’ve fallen over 600 SR because of what I’m trying to say.
But people like you just have to start an argument which makes threads look bad, so no wonder Blizzard doesn’t read their own forums.
I never have fun in qp anymore. I main heals but I can’t play anything else otherwise I get banned for one thing or another. So I don’t play qp anymore.
You need to calm down and recognize that you’re getting mad at things that aren’t really things you need to get mad about.
The reason you’re not having fun with the game is because whenever something fun happens, you reject the concept. 6 Moiras is a pretty silly thing. Instead of telling your team to counter them, you could have rolled with it and asked your team to all go Mercy to ‘counter’ their opposite. You would have had more fun that way, wouldn’t you have?
Competitive obviously it matters more if you win, but obviously, you won’t do that in a game where you have some really low level people. But instead of getting mad at them, remember that they’re people who are new and trying their best.
They don’t know any better.
Instead of complaining, give them tips on what their heroes can do. Telling them “Tracer/Genji are really good at getting in close/behind enemies and doing lots of damage to them, playing more up close would benefit you guys. If you want to play at range, McCree or Hanzo would be a better fit”
The game’s probably lost either way. You know that, I know that. You’re not going to turn it into a win by getting mad over it. Try to help them. Maybe in the next game they’ll do better and be a more positive experience for someone else. That’s a good thing, right?
I really don’t mean to be rude with this, but I don’t think Overwatch is the problem. Your mindset going into it is.
If you dropped 600 SR then you have bigger problems like not belonging that high up. I’m sorry your opposed to fact-checking but I know zero diamonds who nearly dip into gold. Clearly something has gone wrong (or you were boosted) so record and play back your games. Going on the fora to say the game sucks because your rank correctly adjusted isn’t going to help your issues.
I’ve played Overwatch since the release, and pretty much every single game is like that. Toxic players, morons and trolls and it is only getting worse overtime. Where is the fun in that?
And Arcade would be fun if Blizzard didn’t design it so that in order to get your weekly lootboxes you must win. So, joining Arcade to win lootboxes only to have people messing around is very frustrating and time consuming. It has not clouded my judgement, I’ve seen and made threads regarding this when weekly lootboxes first came out. But they just don’t care or ever reads their own forums.
If people want to mess around, then there’s Custom Games for them. Leave Arcade for those wanting more lootboxes or to play the gamemode as intended.
I have dropped over 600SR because of leavers, trolls and selfish morons in Competitive. In earlier seasons this did not happen as frequently, but the latest seasons have been insane and that is why I am creating these threads. If you have not met leavers, selfish players only playing certain heroes refusing to change or trolls, then you are the delusional one here.
Ah… everyone but me is the problem-ism. Clearly you had trolls/leavers/snurfs/useless teammates/etc every single game to drop SIX HUNDRED SR (how many losses even was that?) And all your opponents are playing like top 500s while yours are bronze, right?
We all get the aforementioned. By all meaning both sides and every player. We don’t drop over a full rank because of it. But if you want to blame your teammates then enjoy the plunge. You can control yourself not your teammates so take onus and improve yourself. Learn YOUR mistakes and correct them. Or drop more until you fall where you belong. Suit yourself.
The fun is what you make of it. Why do you play overwatch?
Is it for silly, fun moments? Then stop focusing on all the frustrating ones so you can move on to those ones.
Is it for team play, coordination? Then why are you in matchmaking? Use LFG. It exists to promote that.
I agree having to win is kind of dumb you have to win, but recognize you can still win while having fun. Those people playing in the arcade? They’re having fun and getting the lootboxes that they want. You have the potential to do that too, but you’re not thinking clearly enough to see that. You’re letting lots of negative emotions get in the way of enjoying the game.
It’s not blizzard making you upset. It’s you. You’re the source of all this anger and frustration.
I’m an Overwatch player, just like you. I play to win, just like you.
I have fun, but you evidently don’t.
So what’s the difference between us?
We’re both people, equal and the same. The only thing different is the way we look at the game and ourselves.
Life’s too short to get mad at everything that inconveniences you, or that you don’t like.
I’m not saying don’t get angry. Everyone gets angry. I get angry. But, when you do get angry; it’s up to you whether to drop the emotion and move on from it, or to let it fester inside and grow with each passing frustration, becoming worse and worse.
I think the Overwatch team is doing the best they can to address those issues. The thing is like Overwatch is constantly changing and there are always seasonal events they have to make content/deadlines for.
They don’t have the luxury like other videogames where they announce a release date and you have to wait for that completed product like Kingdom Hearts III or Final Fantasy XV.
Nothing more annoying than going for arcade loot boxes and you get a GM on one team and a silver on another team.
top skilled players should only play against other top skill players
average should only play with average
low skill should play against other low skill
doing the above would eliminate a lot of the toxicity and make each game more even./…its win win
I love OW but that’s not true what you say here. They do in some aspects a good job but currently they made a pretty bad job at it. Recycled events with less skins, no blue posts, just releasing skins you have to buy, no lore or any other informations. It’s pretty bad right now.
