I have no clue, maybe its just me, but the game nearly loses all forms of frustration when I am playing Open Queue. Whether last season or this, I had 10x more fun playing Doomfist, Ball, and Bastion in Open Queue than whenever I play in 2-2-2.
Like even if we’re doing 2-2-2 in OQ, there just isn’t that stress factor and I have no clue why. Is it because people aren’t as invested into that they try to have fun?

In Open Queue players can flex and carry the match.

pretty much this, and most of the chill people play there, although the matchmaker is pretty garbage, I placed diamond and I have silver role queue players and top 500 players in the same match

well its also where i play so thats already a huge plus

The game was designed for non-2-2-2, its better that way.

If only we had a roleless-queue mode qp on the main menu right next to 222…
if only…
and no, QPC is not the same game nor on the same menu

That’s because its a mosh pit. It’s like asking why you feel more constrained ball room dancing because its taking more skill than just bumping into one another in a mosh pit. It’s easy, just more mundane.
Its a great arcade mode compared to the real game now though no question.

Because you can flex and take the match into your own hands at any point. You’re not locked behind a certain role for the rest of the match

Because players refuse to accept their “master” heritage ranking in season 8 is wose than diamond in season 20+
And blizzard actually let them keep their ranking and let their teamates suffer
Seriously, the ranking experience sucks, there is no fun because there is no fair.

2-2-2 limits who you can play. Open Queue doesn’t. If your teammates in Open Queue are flexible (which tbh is usually the case in higher tiers) then Open Queue will be the more enjoyable experience

probably because open queue is easy mode

If this is the case then you don’t have a valid reason, it’s just psychological.

Yes it is the exact same thing.

I like it more because nobody can say, “we need a main healer/tank” without volunteering. Hero pick complaints just have less merit in OQ, imo. Be the change or shut up, basically.

Because freedom. Freedom is a beautiful thing. I have more options to deal with issues.

It’s because bad balance can be brute force compensated by going triple tank or triple dps, or whatever wacky combo you want. Or if you get tilted, you can switch roles entirely.

There remains multiple differences between pre222 qp and qpc
I mean, people have their preferences is it. Since I generally play support or tank, I just don’t find much of a point to QPC, but I get why people would enjoy it.
I take that back… If I see 1-3-2, I love playing Winston, so that is a nice thing.
But it just takes one moment of having a full comp and someone tilting off a role before I go, “Right, that’s a thing…”
