Why is Nano projectile? I hate when Nano goes to Nirvana

As an Ana player you maybe know what i mean.
Sometimes you press Nano and before Nano reaches the player he died and Nano goes dont know where it goes but it goes.

So why is this?

What basically happens when you pressed nano the server sees this:
Player 1 is dead
Player 2 sees him alive still, and nanos them.
Server says nyo he already dead, your nano doesn’t get refunded.

You still see him alive when you nano even though he is already dead.

Or thats ehat I understand.

They can also die before the nano gets to them I’m pretty sure

Then you should turn on this Nano confirm option in the settings. I would recomend this.

No its the same atleast for me you can just press the ultimate button twice this also works.

I definitely know what you mean. Happens to me too way more than I would like :smiley:
After careful replay reviews of such instances, I realized that I was actually nanoing that person way too late. I managed to minimize it a bit by nanoing sooner.

What I mean by this is, if your Zarya for example is taking way too much damage and you know that she is going to die in the next 5 secs, I nano her the moment her health goes below her blue armour, like those blue parts on her healthbar :smiley:
Same with any Tank rly. The moment the Tank goes below his armour it is good time to nano him so they do not die, especially if you have to reload at that particular second or your nade is on cooldown. (this of course only applies to situations when a nano would not only save the nanoed target but would secure a teamfight or the point, does not apply to nanoing targets who are all alone while the team is respawning)

After watching some replays in order to see why my Nano did not hit and the person died along with my Nano, I also noticed that from Server side they were dead before I used my Nano, so from replays alone it looks like I was Nanoing air, but from my side during that match that person was definitely alive. I contribute it to ping maybe, since I am from EU playing on around 180 ping on US Servers.

There were no lags or anything like that, but it still might affect it. My Nanos do hit more when I am on EU servers with around 32-29 ping on targets that are about to die, but even on EU those things still happen too.

just a general balance to keep ana in check all ults need to be able to be shut down to some degree

It has a 0,1s cast time so the heal comes after that. If either you or the target dies, Nano gets cancelled.

It’s not a projectile, it just has a cast time.

I mean, sometimes that’s on you because you waited too long, and sometimes it’s just bad luck. Considering how many factors other ults have to consider before ulting I think this is a (too?) small price to pay.
