Why is my new name in violation of the naming guide lines?

So either i got scammazed or its just a bug, but i just purchased a battle tag change and apparently “Diavolo” is in violation of their naming thing lol

there are many other Diavolos on Overbuff so i really dont see what the issue is

I would probably contact customer service. I dont think anyone on the general OW forum is going to be able to help with this.

How dare you speak of that word, how did you get it uncensored for my virgin forum eyes?! Begone with you. Absolutely disgusting. My day is ruined.

Your name can’t be that bad, right?

Diavolos in Greek means Devil. Is Devil a bad word in Blizzard’s eyes perhaps?

Note: I used Google Translate.

Diavolo, not Diavolos. I was using a plural term because i see many people named Diavolo on Overbuff. And it means Devil in Italian. Not sure why blizz would care since they literally made a game called Diablo.

Ok, I’m just going to correct you on one thing. Diablo is Italian for Devil, not Diavolo. I know this because there is an Italian car called the Lamborghini Diablo, so named because well, you know…

Diavolo is italian for devil

That name seems awful dark-sided. Not in this house, pal.

Blizzars has a game series called “Diablo”, that also means Devil…

Blizzard also doesn’t let you name your account “god.” Religious names are banned as account names, so Devil probably falls in the same category

Ehm. No.
Diablo is Devil in spanish.
Diavolo is Devil in Italian.

The fact the Lamborghini is called “Diablo” doesn’t mean anything.

The fact that “Ford” has a type called “Fiesta” doesn’t mean they are mexican or spanish.

Does not matter if enough people reported you.
Remember when the lazy peon nickname got banned in WoW? Even though a peon is literally a name of warcraft unit.
