Why is Lúcio being made so easy

Seriously. Not only to do you practically make Wall Ride play itself, but now we’re learning that his Wall Ride Speed Boost (the thing Top Lucios used to get to insane speeds) has been nerfed as compensation.

Lucio already has auras that work by themselves. There is no reason Wall Ride needs to be reworked so that it’s easier to use and has a lower skill ceiling.

Stop making heroes like Lúcio void of skill differences between different players.

Maybe it’s so we don’t get as much Mercy one tricks? A lot of people complain if they have like 2 or 3 mercy one tricks… Adding more hmsupports like Mercy might help your team out. Elitist attitude is why you see problems with comp.

Hun, wall ride is such a small bit of his kit it’s only good for cheeky boops and survivability. The difference between a good and bad Lúcio is their aura management and knowing what song to use when, not knowing how to rub your butt on a wall like a cat in heat…

All this will do is allow more people to play Lúcio comfortably and focus more on their auras.

You’re playing on a casual game, what did you expect ?

This exactly. Lucio’s wallride is far from the most important aspects of how he plays in a team. He has a million other elements that differentiate a good Lucio from a bad Lucio that are all more important than wall riding. There are honestly far fewer times a sick wall ride or roll out saved the day when compared to managing your cooldowns, ammo, and your positioning.

But hey, Squid, if you ever need any Lucio tips, just ask me on Discord.

What am I witnessing :joy:
Wall ride is a gigantic part of his kit.

Top Lucio’s are able to utilise wall climbing and speed boost to traverse large portions of the maps in seconds. It’s vital for life saving interceptions, touching point, clutching a boop, keeping yourself alive and taxiing your team.

Not every hero in the game has to be as simple as ‘press one button to reach max potential’ to make it different from CS:GO.

I think most Lucio players would take speedy wall taps over ‘hold space to wall ride forever around the map’ any day of the week.

If positioning is such a high priority, then how can you not put wall riding up to such a standard? Wall riding is what makes Lucio, Lucio. His wall riding makes positioning and surviving is kind of the damn point of helping your team. Aura management is important, I agree, but you area also missing out on how higher elo players can manage aura abilities WHILE trying to get into a good position for the best effect for the team. Remove the complexity of a wall ride, and Lucio becomes less of a player based on mechanics, and more like another basic healer, with lower healing than most of the other supports.

Tell me its a Casual game when there is a Blizzard Sponsored eSports Competitive League going on right now. If it was to be just casual, they wouldn’t make OWL. OWL is to make it competitive, competitive is there for competitive. If you don’t play Comp that’s fine, I get that. However, just because its casual for you, doesn’t mean its casual for everyone.

I’m guessing one of the devs was forced to pick lucio for the first time in the new elim comp. Because there were no other available supports, after which he thought “oh mahgod dis is so hard, only one way to fix this and it’s definitely not by learning the character”

That’s good for console players.

yea i don’t really care its still annoying either way

my main issue is with people tossing around skill

that said i don’t know if the lucio changes are really that much of a problem

I’d like to point out that removing ammo charge from his boop is going to come in clutch for Lucio’s with consistently good aim.

That and the wall ride not being interrupted by minor ledges is all he needed from the buffs he got. And then they should have strengthened his ability to support his team and left his wall climb and momentum boost as it was.

They are a big problem since they remove one aspect that pros rely on to “balance out” the new wall ride buff. The ammo-less boop is what majority of people will say is a great buff and wanted it for a long time. However, the mechanics behind the wall rides are being removed to make it more “user friendly” when it was the complexity that made Lucio fun to play. What they removed to balance it was the rollout speed, which many high elo players use to increase the effectiveness of Lucio’s kit. So in simplest terms, these changes drop the skill floor and skill cap, making it easier to learn, but making professional Lucio plays usless since the rollouts they rely on are effectively removed.

You dare to call this a competitive game ?
You can’t record your games and review them which is a problem because you can’t have the point of view of everyone in them.
Some hero have more impact with less skill…

Right, so they took wallriding, something that was pretty buggy on some texture and made it more consistent and it’s lowering his skill floor? That’s like saying making Genji’s deflect hitbox nerf made the characters easier to play. Wallriding also required the Lucio to spend more time in DPSing rather than healing the team so making it easier and allowing you to concentrate on other things easier is a welcomed change.

Why do people complain about everything, this change is overall positive, I’m willing to bet these are the same people that complain how the game has too many ‘no skill heroes’ even though these heroes exist so it is easier for people to FLEX and not one trick. Of course they still probably one trick DPS because every support except Ana and Zen is considered no skill in their eyes.

OWL is like 1% of the playerbase dude. I know some people play this exclusively in competitive but they have to make it casually appealing for new players lol
