I am a console player because I can’t afford a PC, but I just don’t like the feel of controller gaming especially in an FPS. So I tried hooking up my keyboard to my console (which by the way, works on other games) but none of my inputs worked. I don’t think that is fair because when I play with my friends on PC I gain a SERIOUS disadvantage. And I don’t see why you can’t implement this into overwatch 2, because it is ALREADY CROSS-platform.
Isn’t it “MKB”? I dunno, I don’t speak console.
Jokes aside, I do agree. Both methods of control are physically available on both platforms. It’s not the fault of other xbox players that some limit themselves to a controller. Hell, some PC players do that to themselves, too.
It should be.
Then games matched on input instead of platform.
But for now you use XIM and accept that you are cheating but can’t be banned (yet)
And when you play with other console players then they would have a SERIOUS disadvantage
If a player chooses to limit themselves then not much can be done…
None the less players should have the choice…
It would be an unfair advantage to console players who dont use mouse and keyboard. Console already has a heavy aim assist, this with KBM? How would that even work.
It is because some prefer controllers and there is a distinct advantage and disadvantage to both, if i play on console i want to use a controller and i expect everyone else to do the same, if i play on pc i expect everyone to be on keyboard and mouse with some exceptions.
Cross play kinds of ruins it but for comp your expected to play on the same input devices. Statistically the average player performs differently on both. But if you want to measure skill they should be the same. Not that ranks matters.
Because the people who chose not to use kbm, would cry and scream its unfair to them.
Doing that and removing aim assist, is the only way to stop people from using xims
to be fair, there’s nothing LIKE holding a controller should you find the right controller to hold. all controllers aren’t equal. also, thumbstick is faster than keybaord.
The solution is just to not queue up with a PC player, everybody wins. Shame on that PC player.
'Course. There are some games that I refuse to play on a mouse and keyboard for that reason. Shooters aren’t on the list.
Definitely not. The only thing an analog stick can do that a keyboard can’t is make your character move at different percentages of the full speed, but neither the equipment’s nor the player’s speed is as slow on a keyboard as it is on an analog stick. Albeit brief, there’s constant travel time on a stick when you want to change directions. Keyboards don’t have that issue, especially with several fingers managing movement.
if I remember correctly, they already mentioned that they eliminated aim assist completely in the game when they put crossplay. but I could be remembering wrong.
that’s what makes it faster. no mis-clicks, no fat fingering. immediate direction of travel. requiring less thought. less brain power. less room for error. more intuitive than keyboard by design.
No. The only way to use KBM on a console is with adaptors, which aren’t allowed… There is no native allowance, Blizzard needs to allow it.
Controller plays with controller, KBM plays with KBM.
in 2023, we play together. devs, enable console pc competitive crossplay. for competitive exceptionals.
What stops someone queuing control, then switching to MKB when the match starts?
The one thing Blizzard had never been backwards on.
fiction. clearly you don’t own a console. if, you do, not in use.
most disable aim assist as it does nothing which is common knowledge.
“I don’t know this, so I’ll come up with a silly excuse! Quirky! ”
They would be put in different lobbies.
I do play on console. Turn it all the way down and go to practice range. You’ll feel the difference.
