Possible story reason I made up:
She apparently crash landed and potentially is teaming up with OW because they promised they were doing what they could to help and in the mean time she will help them with their struggle against the Omnic threat and Talons incursions.
Actual reason: Because the game is non-canon and basically just a showcase for the things they made up.

The whole concept of Overwatch heroes fighting each other to complete objectives never made sense to me. Are they training? Are they dualing? Is it all a simulation? Is it “real”? I just dont know…
its been in lore that the pvp is a simulation years ago

i actually really like the og theory that ow is just a combat simulation operated by athena.
(as in the in-game matches. not lore wise)

Yeah ow scammed her first the szn 12 nerfs now her parents are gonna die and the only thing she can do is walk out of spawn before sombra and tracer massacre her
