No one asks for bad teammates, no one asks to be put against a much better team, no one asks for match after match after match of low-quality matchups that could be resolved with just a bit more time put into the matchmaking part of the matchmaker?
I do not want to just wait 12 seconds to get into a match that is utter trash.
This post would only make sense if you were somehow able to prove that you consistently play at your maximum skill level each match.
In other words, sometimes OP, you’re the bad team mate ![]()
If you’re at the point where you’re blaming team mates, you’re more than likely just tilted and need to take a break or play another game.
Sure, I’m just trying to find out if people are willing to pay for it.
This is not just about Overwatch, but about any game. Let’s say you were to get the best, most fair and transparent matchmaker possible. Something that is so good that nobody could ever come up with conspiracies about manipulation.
Would you be willing to pay for it?
We are technically already paying that with the battlepass and all the collabs. And we get nothing in quality.
Only if you are happy to lose your money, I will never pay for any digital cosmetic items.
There are plenty of whales in the sea for Blizzard to exploit.
Its a natural evolution when games go F2P.
Artificially keep Q times low = more players = more money
Naturally leaving Q times to settle = less players = less money
we are literally getting faceit integration… like what do you mean?
Yeah it just fails because it is more like “Artificially keep Q times low = less quality = less players = less money”
What brings in the money are the cosmetics.
why are we all acting like the one of the most successful esports doesn’t have this exact thing?
cs has both premium and faceit
and while we are at it, subscriptions arent new either. sure it has been mostly an mmo thing but still
Give us some replay codes, let us watch your “superior” gameplay.
To be fair, I don’t play CS. I didn’t know this was a thing. I thought Faceit was just a third-party tournament organization though? How would that relate to matchmaking (unless I’m mistaken on Faceit)? And what does Premium do?
Yeah, that’s true, but they’re becoming more and more commonplace as more and more things move from single purchases to subscriptions. Everyone draws their own line at what’s OK as a subscription and what isn’t, but companies will always, always try to push that line.
Can’t we have it without paying a subscription fee? It’s like going into McDonalds and only be provided meat in your burger if you have a McPlus subscription
I’m not sure where these inadequate comparisons are coming from, perhaps it’s a side effect of the YouTube generation. It is exactly what I said: a transparent and fair system that everyone can use, and that requires payment.
I think he’s talking more like a WOW subscription. Where you pay…
To play the game. I dunno though.
The feeding Doom is totally your fault OP
The wannabe dps Lucio is totally your fault OP
The Cass with 5% accuracy is totally your fault OP
It’s totally your fault that Mercy never uses her damage boost.
You didn’t teleport to a parallel universe to dodge that Nanoblade.
Why is your teammate drunk? It’s because of you.
Everything is your fault.
All of it.
Every little thing.
You just need to be better.
well, I don’t think we should pay to have access to basic stuff the game should provide, specially when I can simply play other games that provide the same without me having to pay almost 1/4 of a AAA release every month.
they also have their own matchmaking, mmr and rankings. their servers also have higher tickrate which is huge. I beleive its a seperate client but im not sure, never got too into cs myself.
it is coming to ow though, at the moment its purely for 5 stacks but im hopeful for a solo queue version coming at some point
It was gifted to anyone who paid for the game before it was f2p but apparently ’ Users with Prime Status are matchmade with and against only other Prime Status users in all game modes’. so paid accounts only play with other paid accounts meaning the cheating should be less and the matches are only with other people to take the game seriously enough to pay for it
my personal take is they will do what gamepass is doing. I doubt anyone would be willing to spend 10 a month on a single game when you could just get gamepass for about the same price and have access to significantly more. outside of things like faceit of course
And it’s not a signature fee. You pay ~15$ for it and you’re prime for the rest of your life.
There are still cheaters, but way less than non-prime.
And Faceit (and the likes) are “separate” from the main game itself while using the same services, with, yes, their own matchmaking and ranking system, as well as (usually) their own anti-cheat measures, with the downside of you being thrown in the back of the queue if you don’t pay the premium subsctiption (this just makes so that it takes longer to find matches)
What is nontransparent about the current matchmaking system?
Here is a link where they go into thorough detail about it, if you are somehow confused -

I think matchmaking in most games is actually pretty good. So, would I pay for a “perfect” matchmaker? Whatever that means? No, lol.
