Why is it impossible to climb out of bronze?

Hi, I’ve been playing overwatch for a year now and I’ve been a dps main for a while. I’m a pretty good reaper, junkRat, pharah, but for some reason it’s impossible to climb out of bronze… I’ll play really well, sometimes even carry my team but we lose, usually because someone throws or leaves mid match Or my team is just incompetent , and my SR will plummet even though I’ve been doing really well. Is it really just impossible to climb on your own? I just wanna be out of bronze but it seems as though the game doesn’t want me in silver or higher. I think the SR system needs a rework like ASAP

So ill try to explain this best I can Since low tier comp is broken atm.

Ill assume you are comfortable with the mechanics of the game and your PC is running the game at a reasonable speed.

  1. Ensure your playstyle helps the team; if your goals are your own and do not involve the team or you do not play in a way that helps achieve the goals of your teammates then you wont climb.

  2. OW’s placement system can inflate or deflate your rank simply by how many experienced players are on your team during the placement period.

Currently the only way to climb is to A: be in the high tier ranks. Or B: Create a 6 stack.
Since one is impossible and the other takes time you could try this way:

To determine how well you will do in higher ranks ask at plat player if you can group up with them in QP, the MMR boost will put you in a silver to gold boarder match.
Use this time as a form of training and do about 10 matches.
If your killing it in game and doing well then you could consider a new account and redo your placements with the new and more experienced you.

Other than that, it would require in-human amounts of game time.

If you deserve to climb to the next rank you will assuming you play comp enough, period. I myself started out in bronze aswell and while climbing out of it was definetly very frustrating at times I managed to do it while basically exclusively solo queueing. The main adive I can give you is to just ignore your sr and focus completely on improving your gameplay and you will get out of bronze soon enough.
