Why is it called Flex Queue

When it only gives me Tank?

“Flex” Queue.

I typically get Support, but occassionally I get Tank roles match-after-match. I wish there was a probability balancing option.

Because it puts you into whatever role is needed the most. Flex.

my man, please, a single cell needs to work here

Selecting Flex Queue, or All Roles, implies that you are happy playing any role. It puts you into the role with the shortest queue time, as that’s the most needed role.

I call the weekly “Flex Your Power” challenge “Tank Tuesdays” and just get it out of the way as quickly as possible.

Just flex role queue mh. Most of the time you don’t even get tank and even when you get tank it’s mh so who cares.

Nothing more annoying than when the wait times are 5 min tank, 3 min DPS, 1 min support, and yet you get tank every single time in flex…

By far the worst challenge in the game and the source of feeding / thrower tanks that don’t know or asked for the role.

I’m always flexing into DPS these days. It’s getting kind of annoying. :pensive:

It should be called Tank Queue.

You’re not wrong, but I don’t think OP is, either.

“Flex” is a bit deceptive, at least for me, because I read that as “you’ll be placed into each of the three roles in a roughly equal fashion”, where as, that’s not what happens.

So if the point is to just ‘fill the gaps’ on the team, a more descriptive name might be worth while.

This may just be me, but if they went that route, I’d love if flex queue also had an increased chance of backfilling. But, I also realize that I’m a degenerate for liking backfill.

Flex doesn’t mean playing anything at random. It means playing what the team needs (which currently is tank due less people willing to play tank)

Ofc a more accurate name would be “role backfill queue” but w/e

Understood, but what’s frustrating is when the tank queue is the longest by itself, and yet I get it anyway when I flex queue . I suspect that the daily/weekly reward drives people (like me) to the flex queue, causing matches to be flooded with bad tanks, and needs other bad tanks (like me) to form “balanced” matches. Thus, whenever I flex queue, I get tank to balance against another flex queue non-tank player.

So, really, my beef is with the flex queue daily/weekly. I don’t want to play tank, but I will play tank for rewards. The net result is I play a role I don’t like and others suffer through me being bad in a role I don’t like. If they wanted to remove the flex daily/weekly, I think that will do more to make flex queue better than actually changing the queue itself.

Yeah but, the only options are bad tank or no tank.
It will be like that till something is done to make tanking less miserable.
