is it hard to get there?
do you have to be lucky?
why is it so low?
just wondering.

game big
As to my understanding, you need to get your SR to reach a specific number. And as you get closer, the players that the game matches you to approaches that number. But there’s a point where to reach that number, you need to beat players that are incredibly good at the game. And normally, the players getting close to there lose to the players already there, resulting in the players already there going up slightly, and the players who lose going down. The number of players who can really have a winning chance against the top tier of players is very small, so only a small number of players end in that tier of play.
By design.
It’s just the way they designed their elo system. They could call the upper 50% of players GM if they wanted, it would just be stupid.
so basically not everyone can be gm, kind of odd gm players say that.
that you can climb to gm yet people in gm are in gm since the games release so you mostl likely can’t be gm.
Best answer you will receive as it’s true and right the the point .
On switch diamond is t500 !
Yep. Even if everyone suddenly got much better at the game, GM would still just be 1% of players.
It’s similar to real life when it comes to being rich. Why are only 1% of the worlds population there?
It’s not something everyone can get to.
Not everyone can be GM. I’m only in low diamond. And the difference between myself and a grand master level player is night and day. I think grand master players would win in most 2v1s against diamond level players.
Even 1% of the playerbase is actually a pretty big number, though 1% is probably exaggerated.
GM Makes around 2-3% maybe now of the playerbase depending on how many players have become better.
But just like others have said, GM is really hard to achieve. It’s practically top500 region and more, you don’t get there unless you probably throw your life away.
hard work and dedication to get there. you need to have good mechanics and most importantly gamesense. you really have to want to improve to get there. let no one tell you anything is impossible.
Because diamond and masters are basically silver and gold 2.0
-What my Gm friend once told me
Pretty sure scientists have calculated that time travel is literally infeasible. But I get what you’re saying. If all the GM players decided to go to Valorant tomorrow, then everyone below them will be the new GM players.
well yeah I mean stuff that’s realistic lmao I knew someone would bring up time travel
they gave out the numbers and its less than 1%, masters is 3%
You could argue how fair ranked is and if everyone in GM actually belongs there but you generally can say GM players are very good at the game or at least with some heroes.
just a standard distribution of skill, almost all games have a similar curve
The bell curve, standard deviation. Basically statistics in a nutshell is why.
That was years ago. Tho I’d assume it’s probably around the same still. Their reasoning of it being 2-3% now cuz more ppl climbed to gm is flawed, because for each person who climbed to gm, there are others who fell, and many more who joined the game and populate non gm ranks.
Can you link me up to that post?
Pretty sure that was the 2 year old one.
