You’ll find no support for Genji here. It’s just “not his meta”, git gud, a good Genji can be fine, every blade is a 7k, etc…

It’s pretty hard to hand tokens to someone you’re ignoring.
He just got a buff and the incoming Meta looks like it will have less of his counters and more of his preferred team members being meta.

I’m so sick of this. Genji is one of the most played characters in the game. Genji is still able to get great value when he’s played correctly and his win rates reflect that. He’s got one of the most valuable and synergistic ults in the game and he gets it relatively quickly. Yes, he’s harder to get value with now than when the game was released. He was also considered OP when the game was released. Stop crying because soldier, torb, ashe, and sym are bottom tier and genji is above their utility.

I’ll wait and see how much the ammo buff truly does. Thing is, Genji kit relies to heavily on his ultimate. If they did buff Genji more than the ammo buff, they may need to do some type of nerf to compensate for it. I don’t mind how Genji is right now though, so whatever works as long as they don’t get overturned.

That’s easily countered unless he’s nano’d.
Because they add counter after counter, along with buffs to counters. He’s considered a throw pick in most areas, there’s never really a reason to pick him.
And he was nerfed accordingly. He got replaced in his own meta by Widow, who was supposed to be countered by that meta.
Ashe has higher winrate and is two spots down in terms of pickrate.
Why is it so hard for you to admit that Genji is bad? Multiple heroes can be bad. Genji has been bad for well over a year, dude.

Ah the classic Win rate argument. Niche heros have pretty high win rates because they get picked for very specific reasons and are often used by one-tricks which inflates their win %. Also, they have a lower pick-rate which adds to this issue. Genji is popular as hell.
Symm and Torb have had historically high Win Rates for this reason despite being the butt of almost any joke for ages.
Fair nuff but just cause he uses a terrible argument you shouldn’t validate it. We want to try to stomp out these age old myths. that’s the dream anyway lol

He’s using Genji’s supposedly good winrate (10th from bottom) as proof of Genji being okay, but heroes he claims are trash have better winrates. Genji also has a low pickrate at 0.79%, only slightly higher than Ashe at 0.71% (2nd highest WR in game below only Brig)

If Genji was nearly as good as people here seem to believe, his winrates would reflect it. Ashe has a higher overall winrate despite a difference of .5% in Pick Rate.
The issue is, his winrate is awful. His pickrate is decent, but his winrate is bad. In all ranks, it’s below average.

Genji has a 54% win rate in GM and a 14% pick rate over the last 6 months. Ashe has a 56% win rate and a 7% pick rate. That means that players who specialize in ashe are getting good value with her, but less players do that. Genji’s sample size is almost twice as large. Genji isn’t bad, he’s a high skill character that you’re not using optimally.
Edit* I’m not saying he is top tier, I’m saying he’s decent. He’s in a completely mediocre place. Widow, doom, hanzo, reaper, mei are more powerful, obviously.
Also genji’s original nerf he got was hardly a nerf.
You know i have seen a post for almost every character in the game mimicking this post. Its just laughable that every character is some how a “throw pick”. Maybe we need to sit down and think about why some characters are situational?
This is just ignorance. Even the best Genji players in the world don’t bother picking him if they’re trying to win. He’s worse off than Junkrat right now.
