So sick of this. It’s never a fair game and it’s not fun when one team has console players and the other doesn’t.
How often is this occurring that it’s an active problem?
Talking from personal experience every time I assume I’m going up again a console player, I’m often (truthfully haven’t found it to be the case yet in about a year’s time) surprised to find out I’m not lol.
Do they get aim assist in cross play? I can’t tell if it’s that or cracked aim from just being good. It could also be cheats. I dunno how they track and predict so well.
Regularly, I’d say one in 5 games I’ll get a console player on my team and it’s always obvious they can’t keep up. A few days ago I had a game with 3 console players on my team and we obviously got rolled. We should be able to opt out of this if they don’t want people leaving games.
Yeah they do.
Could be all the above, or could just be confirmation bias.
It’s best to just play as though you’re up against odds or situations you can identify and attempt to overcome.
Do you check every single match? Because I’m genuinely only checking if I feel there’s a reason to check, and like I said I have yet to actually successfully identify console players purely based on speculation.
Do you have a replay of this? I’d like to see what occurred.
-
Players should be able to opt out, absolutely.
-
Using leaving as a threat says more about you than it does the situations you find yourself in.
-
Are you absolutely certain it’s the console players sandbagging and not other factors?
Okay, we should have the option not to play with them. All they need to do is hook up a mouse and keyboard, and they’re cheating. I’ve been wondering about some weird aiming in my QP games.
No replay, it was a few days ago. And no, I only check if we’re losing and it’s obvious who isn’t able to keep up. After that I’ll check the rest of my games for the day and leave at the ‘assemble your team’ stage if there are console players.
To be clear I’m entirely blaming Blizzard here not the console players.
At least half my games are crossplay on a good day. The other day out of 15 games, 3 were PC lobbies.
I check every game. The amount of crossplay is ridiculous and I don’t want to be in those lobbies ever, whether the console player is on my team or not.
Favor the shooter and bad connections make any lobby even worse and crossplay lobbies are the worst offenders of it.
Play comp, never deal with a console player again…
we would, if comp didnt suck so hard. luckily season 9’s right around the corner
Hook up a mouse an keyboard to a 3rd party device that costs upwards of £100.
Because console overwatch has no native mouse and keyboard support.
150 dollars US. Skins cost 26 dollars. Skin packs 68 dollars. You think a one-time purchase of 150 dollars sounds unreasonable to someone wanting an advantage?
I know people are willing to pay for it, I used to be a console player and have dealt with ximmers, I know that no cost is too great for a cheaters ego.
I don’t really see how this is a reason to exclude console players from playing with pc players though because a cheater on pc or console is still a cheater.
(Yeah I know op is asking for an opt out option but let’s be honest if you could opt out, who would opt in?)
??? We have crossplay? This is new…
Agreed.
XIM in any capacity, while technically cheating, is inferior to native KBM. On console against traditional controller players, it’s a different scenario.
I wouldn’t worry too much about it if you’re a proficient PC player.
Next time you run into them, please post the replay. I’m curious about what’s going on, and would rather see it first hand as I’ve personally never experienced console players to that degree.
I’m not trying to be a pest, but it really sounds like you are lol
See again I’m not running into them all that often, in fact I only check if I’m curious and literally 100% of the time so far I’ve been wrong.
Rounding a lot of gripes under one umbrella there, but I get it. Can’t say that connections have been all that bad on my end, but I know it varies.
I’m very interested in seeing matches where Crossplay results in losses though. I really want to see what’s going on
So…console players are the ones doing the carrying when I’ve been in crossplay. But you could just play competitive if you still think we’re a problem.
I got accused of cheating last time lol. PC players have to move at fixed angles. They’re just easier to hit.
Crossplay is the grossest thing that has come to this game. It makes hitscan a total joke to play at this point.
The only reason why they forced it, is very apparent they do not have the playerbase to sustain either side.
That’s not much money to spend and there are a lot of good competitive shooters you can play on consoles. I’ve spent more on OW2. A Widow friend of mine spent a lot of money on a glass mousepad. 100 pounds is less than good headphones. It’s also less than my keyboard. They could buy inexpensive mouse and keyboards. A friend could also give them their old ones.
I screenshot EVERY lobby and I get upwards of 90% crossplay lobbies in QP.
It’s unfun and terrible and you can’t even leave anymore. Totally anti-gamer.
If xplay happens more than 10% there is absolutely a population problem. The game is severely unhealthy and/or dead, if they can’t find 10 pcmr kbm over and over and over. Crossplay should be a freak exception for an active game.
Inb4 they patch out our ability to notice/detect it. Just like they did for solos/groups. They’ll probably patch out nameplates soon, too.
Anything to hide the scam.
For science I’m on my ps4 with crossplay disabled, quick play, role que, all roles. 10 minutes and counting so far
Edit: 23mins in, this is why crossplay is still a thing. Does this answer your question?
Edit2: 90 minutes in and im ending this experiment. No game found.
