Why is flashpoint in ranked already?

Whole new mode. no one knows the maps. Suddenly you’re playing it.

We have a moratorium on new heroes being immediately in ranked (Illari isn’t available yet) but apparently its fine to just throw everyone into this whole new (and frankly not fun from my experience so far - but that’s probably partly predicated on the fact we don’t get to learn things first in QP. There’s a vague possibiliy its not as lousy as it first seems) mode. Why?

ETA: I think this might only be random heroes/ open queue. But that doesnt make it better.

Maybe they want players to try it in competitive before Illari is in the mode

But if no one knows the map, which i sure dont, (only played the junkertown one once, i always get india lol) then isnt it fair?

also its probably cus they dont wanna drop new maps/modes AND a new hero into ranked in the same week, so spacing them out makes sense.

But some people do know them. The people who dont sleep and just play the game. That’s nto a great baseline.

i mean, its a competitive game mode. people who play more will tend to have the edge in general anyways. So sure, some people might have more experience, good for them.

Which is precisely why for everything else there’s a 2 week lead in. So why not for new maps/mode?

Is Illari also accessible in ranked, or is the two week embargo for new heroes still a thing?
