If you play a 30 minute match it feels horrible it you lose
Control, is actually my least favorite. Unless we’re talking Comp, then I love the “cut and dry” scoring of it.
Just Mercy.
Maybe Brigitte in dive?
It still feels like their is far too much sustain while at the same time their is too much damage.
The moment you overcome the sustain everything dies so quickly you can’t do anything.
I personally wish for a more slow paced game like in the older days
Zen and lucio were the OG dive
That was a long time ago, I don’t see that as an upgrade over Mercy or Ana.
dunno how a future dive meta would be, I highly doubt it would be Ana though,
personally i think a Mercy Zen Ham Dva Tracer Widow would look like a potentially 2020 dive meta
Or maybe Ham / Winston inestead of dva
Yes but it wasnt like people were too thrilled about it.
Beside that, I agree that the balance is not adequate for this idea to exist unfortunately
The faster the game the more teams and players are rewarded for consistent clutch game play and the harsher the punishment for sloppy game play.
It’s why ULT charge speed is so important and also why I assume it’s been toned down over the years. Less ULT, less time, forcing players to get more value out of what they get.
but all of this is very tricky being it’s also really easy to give too little time and average players can’t get anything done.
I don’t have time to lose a 45 min match. I would rather play 4 10 minute matches.
Because people want it so when you shoot something it takes less than 5 clips to kill them
A fast game, is a more fluid and skillful game
A slow game devolves into ability cycles
laughs in losing 18-17 game
“fast OW” will give Blizz an excuse to create more unfair matches in attempt to speed up queue times.
Because some people want Overwatch to be more FPS than MOBA.
He refers to long wait times and matches that can stagnate like 2cp or playload maps that go 4 to 6 rounds.
He also provides a reason why they want to avoid these. He says “the sting of defeat is far less” when the process is quick. A 40-60 minute match in a game as fast and focussed as OW is mentally tiring, and if it results in a loss many players will stop playing/take a break afterwards. Furthermore, long matchmaking times discourage many players regardless of outside circumstances because there are other fun FPS and MOBA games out there that don’t involve so much waiting.
It seems to me a lot of dps are either fast paced little spazzes and they want their dps queues nownownownow or they want to fulfill their power fantasy of being a sniper and one shoting the entire enemy team, which is why you see Widow in almost every. single. game. Most people want to dps, so most players are like this. I have no idea how you change this mentality or why they don’t all go play something more geared toward their wanna be solo play style such as CS:GO/TF2/Fortnite.
It’s not inaccurate, though. I recall them saying that the barrier nerfs were to enable faster team fights, too.
I took it as meaning less “down time” during matches. Not necessarily super quick fights (that’d be easy, just delete all healing).
The time it takes to walk the 5 miles from spawn to the fight is excruciating, for example.
You guys forget that everything is done in the name of the league. Faster matches make for a better viewing experience and that’s all they are trying to change. What happens to our games hardly matters.
The game i had in mind wasnt a MOBA, in fact, it was a FPS hybrid
So could be said for people who want overwatch to turn into CS:GO by removing any and all defensive abilities, couldnt it?
the game is a mix of both, no side is correct at trying to make it be fully one, there needs to be a middle ground,
