Why hasn’t the Halloween event started yet? Logically you’d think it would start October 1 and go through November 1. All of their events have ridiculous start / end dates that almost never make sense. Summer event starts late Summer…I mean come on. Blizzard can’t do ANYTHING right.
Well the events are 3 weeks, so the time frame doesn’t work for a whole month.
I expect it to start Tuesday

Even with that we’re past a week in so it still doesn’t make sense but oh well.
if I remember correctly, the new lunar year 2021 event was announced just 2 days before (on Sunday). or if it wasn’t that, I’m absolutely sure there was an event that was announced very, very close to the start date.
that said, I don’t think it’s more disappointing than not getting a delayed lore for Malevento 
wait at least to see what happens on Sunday. Otherwise … 
well the client has already had its pre-download. what do we know what it contains, other than that it will be shown on Tuesday or Thursday?
It’ll likely run from Tuesday Oct 12 to Tuesday Nov 2nd. 3 weeks, on Blizzard’s normal update days, and pretty much matches perfectly with ending right after Halloween.
It’s not late, we’re just not there yet.

The events are usually really predictable. The rules of thumb are
- They are always three weeks long
- They almost always start on Tuesday, but sometimes start on Thursday
- If it’s based on a real world holiday, it usually starts such that it ends just few days after the holiday
So Halloween is most likely this Tuesday

Silly Blizzard cannot figure out when Halloween is. Tee hee.
Events last three weeks and try to end as soon as possible after the holiday the event is based on, passes, on their Tuesday - Thursday schedule.
There is typically a pattern to when they start the events. For example, they always start the Halloween event on the second Tuesday of October, unless something more important bumps it back. WHY they chose that specific timing im not sure.
Pretty sure they’re going to start on time even if it’s not the time you want.
Technically they are starting it 1 week earlier from the last patch.
I complain about dumb stuff sometimes. This wouldn’t be one of those things though. 2nd Tuesday of every October since the event began is very much on time. Actually this might be the most reliably on time event in the whole game since it has never not been on the 2nd Tuesday of October. This year even started 1 day earlier than last year. Tomorrow you’ll be saying it starts tomorrow so it will be here soon enough.
