I try hard in every game I play and try to win every game as if it were competitive.
Losing sucks, if you’re not trying to win regardless of it’s ranked or non ranked then why are you playing an online game in general?
You can play a hero you’re just learning but at the end of the day you’re still be trying to win. I don’t understand why being sweaty in quick play is negative?
There’s a lot of speculation about what tryharding even actually is, especially since perspective is required. I’ve been called a sweaty virgin try hard a couple times playing Genji… and I literally suck. I don’t even play DPS as much as I do support.
The problem is when im trying a new character, and a diamond player comes in refining his mei play. We both know you can tell im a new tank but still systematically isolate and kill me endlessly with frost wall. My team flames me in an already frustrating situation, and you never cool it and stay full sweat while my team implodes and flames
What im saying is this game has no new players so qp is very competitive, lock in on mains sweat it out.
There’s also the fact that some players processing speed are different in their QP games too. While it seem like it is tryharding to the losing player, the winning player may be playing the game leisurely because the game actually feels slow to them. They are literally goofing around and/or playing the game while drunk/high.
Trying hard is fine in Qp except people want to learn new characters before they are stuck using them in other modes.
no one like getting in a game where they are trying to learn with the unranked fresh account 40/0 Soldier/genji/bastion/Mauga ya know?
the problem is not try hards it is the 40th smurf account staring at a wall and snap target sniping you from across the map, but because you are playing so hard to win you get lumped in with the smurf bots.
tldr: if you want everyone to “Try hard” go to comp and actually get a ranking out of the deal. other wise sure play to win in Qp but when you hit 40/0 maybe take it down a notch.
Because some people mostly one-trick. There’s very distinct characters with distinct personalities, and people get favorites. But meanwhile, this is a game with counters, so if you switch to their counter, they are unhappy. They think everyone should be like them and just play the 1-2 heroes, come what may - anyone who isn’t like this is definitely “sweatier”, and then when the onetrick loses, he will talk about this sweatiness as a bad thing.
There’s no reasons in even caring what people say in QP. People who claim try hard are the same people who spam gg ez after every win. It’s better to just ignore stupidity and let them have whatever glory they are seeking.
If you want to be a try hard in QP, that’s fine. It’s when you try to get all your teammates to be the same way. Some players just want to chill or try new heroes.
That doesn’t mean they don’t want to win, but they want to play their favorite hero and be left alone. Not everyone respects that.
in my mind Try harding is fine its when tryharding turns into something so sweaty it locks a team in a spawn room for the next 10 minuets THATS where i draw the line
If they make the daily and weekly challenges easier to get, then you might see it go down in competitiveness. But as long as they still give “Double Progression” for wins. QP is going to have players that just want to win and want you to want that as well.
Blizz knows what its doing and its really sad that they make the BP and Challenges benefit based on wins vs reducing the # of games it takes to complete or get.
The game is not for casuals anymore or new players. Its for the old school OW players that still like the game and want to play. I mean look at the shop and systems they have in place that are absolutely terrible for the player base and have been solved by other FTP games for years.
No one knows if you’re try harding or not. It’s just projection so ignore it. Just don’t be the guy try-harding when you’re up 5v4 all game from the backfill bug.
I don’t think trying your best to win is sweating, but like screaming at someone who has said they just want to practice/play x hero or w/e, that’s what I don’t really wanna see in QP.
I’m fine with the Masters Genji OTP wiping the floor with me while he warms up, I’m fine with people counter swapping, I’m being solo ulted as the enemy Mercy? Always ethical. Start getting salty in chat, text or voice, because someone is playing poorly, is being hard countered, is playing a sub optimal pick or something along those lines and that’s where I get “It’s just QP”. Let people warm up, practice, try new things or just play who they like there, if you never want to deal with that just please go play ranked where it’s more understandable and expected to take the game way more seriously.
There’s a scale/level as to how I classify something as sweaty behavior or not.
Trying hard to win, communicating with the team, combining ults, I don’t really classify that as sweaty.
It’s when it starts getting into:
Will chase you across the entire map just to secure 1 kill and then spray on your body.
Even once you’ve given up and decide to emote a bit away from the objective, they still ruthlessly rush over and obliterate you, swarming you like a pack of rabid dogs, and then walk back.
When your team is locked in spawn and just decide to collectively give up and emote together they’ll keep moving around trying to get angles to get kills just to get that 1 extra kill stat.
Even when it’s a clear a team has basically given up, are using the “hi” emote, standing still when they get near and start attacking, they’ll still give it their absolute 100% even though they don’t really need to do anything. They’ll still combo you down, chase you across the map, solo ult you, flick to your head and blow it off, like their life depends on how well they play.
And similar things.
These are the ones that annoy me, because they’re unnecessarily tryhard and just come across as them trying to rub in your face “look how much better than you we are”.
