No people cry about it and still play his controles are not that bad just change the button layout
Strong against barriers + puts pressure on Zen since his healing is way too small to compensate for Bastions damage
That’s not a very good reason to play Bastion. The tree’s average HP/s is just below 30 hp/s. It’s better in most cases to put the damage on the enemy team than the tree… It sucks 
I feel like it’s the fad de jour. A few days ago, it was Sombra. Then Battle Mercy and Bastion.
On the bright side, Genji is back to a reasonable rate, and Widow is trending down. I’d rather deal with Bastion than either of them.

Bastion at the moment is great against Lifeweavers flowers, trees, and Brigittes new shield.

If they got rid of Bastion’s dumb grenade and replaced it with self-heal, and let him choose between tank or artillery config, he’d be perfect imo. He needs to be babysat by the healers too much currently.
Incidentally, Bastion chaingun into a friendly Mei Wall trap, can just melt Tanks.

Bastion’s really easy to counter due to his massive hitbox, you need to play smart and have good aim to succeed on him.
What I have been seeing is a lot of Mei, which is a problem since she has no counters and gets way too much value for low skill.
This. Plus:
Lifeweaver lowers the value of most close range damage heroes because grip and petal are both good ways to get your team members away from them. New Brig Rally is also a threat to close range damage heroes, adding a little more value reduction. So, you are going to see a general increase in longer range heroes, which Bastion is decent at.
Also, Lifeweaver cannot keep up with high sustained damage, even when it is against tanks. This inflates Bastion’s value because he can pressure the tank out or just straight kill him.
Well also, LifeGrip means the “Big Cooldown” heroes can Int in hard on the enemy team, then get out of danger for free with LifeGrip.
Also, I’ve seen lifeweavers pull bastion out of spawn.
Probably because it’s level 10 Free BP skin. I think Sym had the same situation in season 2. (also level 10).
Or maybe cuz Lifeweaver is popular right now and Bastion can destroy buildings very fast (Platform, Tree, Mei’s wall, etc)
Literally any sniper counters mei with less skill required
He’s not in my games - but I main Tracer so they tend to switch off pretty quick.
