should it be zarya hog since they are the tank hyper carrys?
itâs probably because hog is more a big target than ball and it can feeds a lot more since he has not mobility and the enemies have a great aim. when ever i have to deal with an enemy hog as a dps, i am happy because heâs just free ult charge the same goes with d.va.

Well I think ball is being paired with tracer who is being turned into a killing machine by being pocketed by zen and brig. Other damage is either mccree or echo and brig scan be swapped out for mercy if you use echo.

basically it all starts with the fact that tracer, echo, ball, widow and zen are all very very strong if not OP at the moment. Naturally theres huge dive synergy there, but tracer and ball can hard gib zen. So in order to get discord uptime and build trans, zen is paired with the only supports who can keep him alive, either brig or mercy. Sigma is picked for widow sightlines and to pocket zen a nd push payload and because he has an amazing ult thats super fast charging, can force out trans and he can chain stun ball with brig making hammond actually killable sometimes.
Thats very basically how the meta works. Its a dive comp and its been meta on asia and eu for about 3 months, its only on NA that people have been obsessed with baptiste and orisa. This meta is actually really healthy for the game because every hero in it is very high skill, often very mechanically intensive, there are few cheese mechanics involved, the teamplay is less of a factor making it nicer for ladder experience, and it makes for very good viewing experience. I hope it will remain for the next season of OWL.
Also, because all of these heroes only become broken in the absolute highest tiers of skill, none of us plebians have to worry about it, and can keep forcing rein zarya and walking the low ground. Its only if we get to masters/gm that people playing hammond and echo will tear us apart

Normally you canât headshot ball before he ccâs u, I think thatâs more of the reason.

Hog got nerfed.
The only reason we were ever in a Hog/Zarya meta was because Hog was buffed into OP territory. So after he got nerfed, the meta shifted.
Sigma has been the best Shield Tank for the past year and a half since his literal release. He also has gotten realistically 0 meaningful nerfs or reworks.
Plus, Ball has always been OP in the right hands, but due to his skill ceiling being higher than other Tanks, he can keep his power level where itâs at.

ball is the hardest carry tank and has been since his release, if you dont believe me look at top500 leaderboards history. Even during goats yeatle was 4700 with ball only.
Ball is broken if youre good at overwatch, but only if ur good

I think this meta is all about the dps rather than the tanks.
Usually itâs about the tanks as tanks have different strengths but with all the recent nerfs to shields the dps are pretty much the ones to lead.
So the meta picks are anything that can deal with the double snipers, double long range support.
Hog will never be meta again so long as Ana is meta and Orisa is not. Hog is fine, but heâs not meta. Sigma and Ball are almost entirely independent, and both of them have regen abilities that arenât effected by anti-nade.
hog was meta cause he got overbuffed, now he toned down, so zarya have nothing to do with him anymore. ball and sigma are two another broken tanks, there is absolute zero synergy between them besides both of them are freaking generalists, can do everything at once, thatâs why they are meta. But usually meta means team effort or some coordinated synergy, not this case.
