Why is 6v6 in arcade now instead of under Quickplay, I nearly uninstalled the game after playing it since 2016,… because 6v6 is all I want to play. I finally had my favorite game back…
I know I won’t finish this battle pass playing freakin’ ARCADE.
Why are Blizzard so intent on self-sabotaging, especially with Marvel Rivals out? They need to bring back 6v6 permanently, give us 6v6 ranked and hero bans, and ideally delete 5v5. Throw the OW2 branding out the window while they’re at it.

it still counts as your weekly/daily qp challenges. They moved it to arcade to EXTEND it. It was actually supposed to be removed ENTIRELY on Jan. 6th. It was only in unranked for the first phase of the playtesting. Second phase starts on Tuesday and it will be back in unranked as OQ Min 1. Max 3 for another 3 weeks.
That being said, if the traffic numbers prove to be better than the 5v5 modes after these playtests, 6v6 could make a permanent return.
I will. But that doesn’t mean I want to see Overwatch die. I want it to be the best it can be and that’s 6v6, including ranked.
Queue times aren’t too bad even now that it is in the arcade. People are figuring it out.

The most likely reason is not malicious as you seem to suggest. More likely the game client was set to have the mode expire from the unranked menu at a specific time (coinciding with the trial ending) but due to popularity they wanted to keep it. They likely couldnt dynamically update that menu without another client update, but they can do this for arcade, so they added it there as a stopgap.
Had several matches on support 5-10 minutes, but that could just be nobody wants to play the other roles.

It’s been like that for a long time. Feels like some sort of malevolent “actor” managed to get in there and subvert all the decision making. Some competitor maybe?
They should just put it permanently in Quick Play and Competitive. I don’t like 5v5 and barely play any of the 5v5 game modes since 6v6 released. My entire history is full of Arcade which I NEVER touch before they put the game mode in there. Also I get way faster queues in my 6v6 matches than my 5v5 competitive game modes.

6v6 was likely taking away too many players from 5v5 since daily challenges could be completed in there as well. By moving 6v6 to arcade, Blizz removes this benefit.
I’m hoping when the test concludes and blizzard finally figures out that 5v5 is garbage, that it will return to the main menu screen with the biggest, sparkliest logo literally popping out of the screen with a new name: Real Overwatch.
5v5 can then be put into arcade, with a tiny icon of a trash can called: Garbagewatch for DPS Clowns
