Since the launch of ow2, my friends and I have noticed qp feeling like comp matches every game. I myself typically in comp main support and my friend who I primarily play with mains dps. His lobbies are usually GM ~ top 500, while mine usually range from M~GM challenger roles. That being said, he plays on console and I play on pc, so we’re unable to play comp together at the moment.
When we play qp, we hop in with the expectation its supposed to be a casual experience or a good way to learn a new character. For example, on my account I maybe have a combined total play time on all dps heroes of 10 hours. The same goes for my friend when he tries to play tank. So we often pick roles or characters we’re bad at. But every match in qp we get some person who goes maybe 30-1 every game on the enemy team. They coordinate constantly and cycle ults, try to stagger targets and often end up playing against 5 stack teams. Its not fun, for us to have even on game that feels ‘casual’ we have to lose 20 games in a row, then if we win 1 game we’re back to the same cycle and it feels awful. To make matters worse the enemy team always is toxic, often spamming chat and voicelines and tbagging. Reporting doesn’t seem to do anything, which feels even worse. We can’t convince any other friends to play with us cause they feel the game is too hard and they end up losing due to this when they do try to play. Comp matches don’t feel like this at all and often people are nicer in chat than in qp.
QP should be for friday nights when you’re having a drink with friends and don’t care about winning or losing. Comp should be for people who care about winning and are passionate about the game and want to coordinate and 5 stack. After a week of constantly being tbagged, trash talked, told its a skill issue I’m done and you should be too. There is no reason to play a game that makes you feel awful inside and has a toxic player base. Not to mention too many people on the forums insist that takes like this are wrong and just overall are mean to those trying to express frustrations about this. Not everyone wants to hop into games and have it be competitive all the time.

not telling you to keep on playing or anything but maybe when playing quick play turn off all voice/text and hop on discord with your group or friends so you have communication with only them. since only practice 
ive had chat/voice off for A LONG time and it seems like its the only way you should play the game lol. i dont have much friends anyways and yea i dont think ill make any new ones in this game either. that does seem like it sucks but thats just my situation perosnally i guess

Blame blizzard for making actual competitive a complete joke
No competitive player wants to play ranked. It has a plethora of major design issues
- stacking restrictions with friends
- 0 communication on what is actually happening to your rank. 5/0 you dont go up. 5/7 you go up.
- Matchmaking is terrible
- Rank inflation from season 3
- Throwers that go unpunished
- Leavers that go unpunished
- You cant just quit if you get the 2 above types of players, or YOU get punished, so are forced to play out a lost game unlike qp when you can freely leave
- 5W/15L for rank updates sucks
- ranked rewards scaled back and no new things to grind for. Most people who care about ranked have all the golden guns
- hero balance is terrible
So all the ranked players just play qp now.
They can stack, they arent missing out on potential rewards cus ranked has none, they can leave whenever they get terrible teams at no cost, 0 risk to their rank to play. The true reason to play ranked should be in the quality of matches but that simply is not the case. Ranked matches are not much more competitive than quickplay matches in their current state

FOR THE LAST TIME, quickplay has NO rules about how it should be played.
You want to play it casually, cool, do that.
You want to practice new heroes, cool, do that.
You want try out an off role, cool, do that.
You want to group with low skill friends or high skill friends, cool, do that.
You want to test strategies for ranked, cool, do that.
You want to group up with console friends, cool, do that.
You want to focus strictly on x challenge criteria, cool, do that.
Nowhere does it state that QP is strictly for casual play. Nowhere. Not anywhere does it say that. It’s just quick matches with loose MMR and no SR gains or losses. That’s it. That’s literally all it is. So I don’t know where you came up with this fantasy that QP was just for casual play, but you’re wrong. Try custom games for that. Or VS AI.

you dont get it. this is bc both rank and unranked are rigged. not by tier. which is meaningless. as its only 25 wins per tier. rigging/nerfing the losing teams connection to the ow server is the issue. i explained in a few sentences what took you an essay and still not correct. i respect your right to vent. tier is not the actual issue.
People shouldn’t be toxic, but I don’t see anything wrong with people trying to win.

a lot of people already left because of Blizzard’s bait and switch with OW2… this next season is make or break. The game could go the way of Heroes of the Storm if they keep falling short of even the most reasonable expectations
