Why I'll stop playing ranked

People will be commenting on why people write this stuff on forums and I know it won’t change much but I just can’t help do all I can to give warnings/tips to the devs at this point. I never loved and played a game as much as I did for this one…

If i leave ranked, I doubt I’ll be playing mucj of the game at all. While I enjoy collecting and farming cosmetics, no game keeps my attention for just that. I either want something that keeps my attention like an interesting campaign/story, enjoyable events or a high replay value. Seeing as OW does not have any of those with events at this point becoming a pure recycling of past events which I’ve all played twice by now, the only reason to keep me in thw game was competitive.

DISCLAIMER: This incoming comment has NOTHING TO DO WITH RACISM.

I’m a console player in europe. In my last 10 matches, I had 7 games with a team of people from rhe middle east and 2 with russians. The russians were somewhat okay, because they were kind of able to communicate in english. It was understandable. But the 7 games with the arab speaking players? I had to turn the voice chat off. I don’t even know if they were insulting me or legit trying to make something work and look for a comp. The language barrier is way too high, and the only english words they were able to tell me are words I can’t even write here.

Seeing blizzard’s stance on these countries like not letting them participate in the WC I doubt they’ll ever plan on putting europeans and arabs on different servers.

As if it wasn’t tough enough to get a good rng with matchmaking and get a balanced team and people who want to join voice chat, you also have to add language barrier in europe/middle eastern countries?

I’m done for this reason, as long as each continent and set of common languages don’t get their own servers, I am not going to play this game with a ranked mentality any longer.

I might join ranked to complete the placements for as long as I still get motivated to even turn the game on, but I doubt that will last.

Matchmaking on console has always been like this for me, it’s why I switched over to PC. Are you of a high rank? Because then it must be extremely frustrating trying to communicate then.

In Europe servers there are all kinds of languages.

Yes, but I can literally talk all the european languages except portuguese (which I’m currently learning) and even that is useless because I hardly ever find europeans. On top of that, anyone aged more than 16 has enough english skills to communicate for an OW game (right/left, behind/ flank top etc).

Most middle eastern countries don’t seem to have those that basic english skill, unless they purposefully refuse to talk it but I hardly doubt that. Again, all I heard those people tell me in english ( not all of them it was very few) was “mercy…mercy…MERCYYYYYYYY” followed by insults that I wwill not repeat here.

I’m not of a high rank but I had thr luck of playing with people I could communicate with for 2 straight seasons for a total of a 100 games (french, german, spanish, english and italian). I ranked from mid silver all the way to mid plat in 2 seasons.

This season I had only 5 out of 20 games with people I was able to communicate with, of those 5 I won 4. Mostly lost and am back to mid gold now. I find myself being insta tilted as soon as I turn voice chat on and her them screaming with babies crying in the background, vacuum seemingly in front of the mic and them (as 4-5 stacks going full dps) screaming for mercys and tanks.

This is exactly why I rarely play anymore. The thing is:

  1. Europeans (like myself) are usually able and willing to speak English. (French not so much hence I’m learning French)
  2. Europeans are more likely to work together…
  3. Ping

Middle Eastern people keep DC-ing, refuse to pick anything besides DPS, and are unable to speak English.

I mean this game certainly has balancing issues, but I find this problem to be much bigger and it’s the main reason I rarely play anymore.

Could try lfg. Seen one group named, “No French or Arabs”

Generally never had an issue playing with Arabs. Played with a nice 5 Arab stack. Couldn’t understand a word, but “Pharah, Pharah, Pharah!” pretty clear.

Worst incident I’ve had was someone blaring music down the Mike at 100 dB. When I asked them to cease I heard the reply, “Shut up Motherfccker!”

Whilst I was quite perturbed and left team chat, I was impressed by his command of a foreign language.

“English only LFG”

Okay people keep suggesting the lfg tool to me. Have any of you actually tried it?!
Here’s what happens: it takes more than 5min to get 6 people in the group, ehen you get 5 and a 6th is coming in, 2 leave. This goes on for like… 12 min maybe? And then you go into ranked queue (finally) only for 3 people to leave after barely 2-3min of search. This, happens between Every match because at the end of every match everybody leaves anyway.

So no, lfg is far from the solution. Even discord is better

LFG hasn’t been so bad for me. I leave skirmish on tho cause I’d rather the group do smth than nothing for 4 mins.

I have a friend in Europe and he tells that LFG is dead right there, it is only alive at plat and Diamond, I agree that they need to make Servers with languages and not regions, but it is too expensive…

All players from the enemy team in Competitive Play for PC are cheaters. They cheated because they easily win and are invincible.

Not languages, that would obviously be too expensive, but I think an english european server should be doable. I don’t mind playing with russians, I mean they kinda know basic english, but I can’t communicate at all with arabs… and their community should clearly be big enough to get their own servers.
