TLDR 222 exposes and showcases weakness in an individual’s skill in the role they chose. Some people can’t handle not being as great as they believed they were and rage, others humble up and improve themselves. It’s harder to hide now.
Role Que is fine, as with all new systems its going to take some time to flatten out. It is based off what has already proven to be a terrible MMR system, right? Plus, it’s a beta; relax.
The real problem seems to be the impact it’s had on the ego of the community. People are often not as good as their own hype and 222 showcases those players in a way that leaves no doubt as to who the weak link is.
You cant just hide behind other players anymore. If you pick that Genji you had better bring the pain, or swap off to something more effective, you cant just pop cruise control and get carried off the backs of extra dps or a really cheesy team comp.
We stand out far more now when we screw up or under perform and I love it. Its caused me to actually take a huge step back and reevaluate my own game play in areas i thought I was just fine in. Lots of people could benefit from that introspective stance if they werent so busy making 10 posts a day about how bad matches are despite them refusing to swap off their weak picks.
You cant control other people which was always the case, and role que was never going to change that. It does highlight problem heroes with much better effect which is good. The devs will probably still ignore it, but it makes them look even worse now if they do. There has to be some serious tweaking and down scaling to certain heroes that were buffed to be less useless in the face of goats/triple tank.
Unpopular opinion I’m sure, but around these forums, anything positive tends to be amiryte?
