I’ve heard one change could be that a successful rez rests GA cooldown, which is a change I definitely think would be great. What do you think of that?

You can do something about it, you just choose not to. I still find her fun and so do a majority of people that play her.

Then the teammate you were attempting to save was in a bad position and shouldn’t have been there in the first place. It’s not mercy’s job to save everyone. Teammates really should learn proper positioning

Self peeling for flankers? The fact that Mercy has to actively stop her support abilities to Glock? The fact that Glock still doesn’t have an alternative sensitivity meaning GA is just better and not as jarring?

Are you sure you play Mercy? Or do you just pocket bot?

I know this has been talked about a lot, but just want to give my opinion from the perspective of a flex player who enjoys playing mercy from time to time. Mercy’s mobility was definitely overtuned and needed a change. In my eyes the devs only had two options.

  1. Revert mercy to her overwatch 1 state completely
  2. Reduce her GA cooldown but keep the omnidirectional buff she received going into OW2

So I have some issues here. There wasn’t just “two” options. My biggest complaint is they messed around with her GA cd. That has been consistent in the game for a long time. This literally the base of the pyramid for her kit. The new addition in Overwatch2 was the SJ meter. Now that was not the same. Before going to Overwatch2, Blizzard debated her mobility with Streamers/Content Creators/Players and how they could address the issue were only a minority could actually execute all of the special techs. Because they needed the character to be more intuitive for the average player (Or people who couldn’t do SJ) And that’s how we got the Omnidirectionality variant for specialists, and the Crouch SuperJump for basically all new and casual players.

So why didn’t they mess around with the meter instead? Why not try to slow down GA a bit? Why not increase her hitbox whilst GA? There’s WAY more options on what they could of tested out and done. I’ll die on that hill saying they took the absolute laziest way and sledgehammered her flow.

The devs picked option 2, and I have to agree with this decision completely. I never really enjoyed mercy much in OW1, but I actually find her really fun in OW2 primarily due to the omnidirectional tech added to her kit. It makes her a lot more fun to play as well as gives her much more personal agency to move around the map without requiring a teammate to reach certain places.

You always need a teammate or dead body to reach those places…

I do want to point out that the original “super jump” was actually a glitch and never intended to be an internet part of a the game. It was even impossible to complete this tech on console at all.

Who cares if it was a glitch!? It was addressed by the devs. It was left intentional in the game. It was a good thing it was there otherwise she would of sucked a lot worse and been even more boring. Think for a moment what mercy would be without SJ techs?

Also “It was even impossible to complete this tech on console at all.” Don’t be a liar and don’t spread misconceptions. Just because you lack skill doesn’t mean others do. You absolutely could do this tech on console. It’s called practice.
Maybe that’s why you like this new Mercy and so do a lot of other players because you can now do these techs at the touch of button and that button doomed her to get nerfs on her movement.

Are you going to explain how an ability that was always 1.5 seconds ALWAYS and was NEVER complained about. All of a sudden became an issue?

She suppose to beep boop around for her team. She has the lowest offensive of any support. You cannot compare mercy to the other supports because there’s no other support like her or any other hero in the game for that matter.

Glad your liking mercy more. I do. But this whole everyone now justifying nerfing her GA cd makes me sick.

I mean if you don’t get why Mercy’s GA’d a lot and asked “what’s so fun about spamming GA” I think I had the right to assume.

Since those who usually don’t try to peel for themselves tend to just not use GA.

You absolutely did if you couldn’t use SJ techs on console.

That or maybe just be honest and say you didn’t contribute time to learn her techs on console.saying you can’t do it on console is a straight up lie.

Another console player THAT did play mercy

If you actually had read my OP you’d realize that is stated the devs had two options. One was to nerf CD. The other was to revert the meter change entirely z as I have said, I much prefer to keep the meter and nerf the CD. The meter was a overall direct buff to mercy’s kit

Battle Mercy its not about GA only, its about combination regen and flying.

  1. You dont like flying I get it
  2. in this case she regen saved her

There was more than 2 options. Another stated it on this thread too! Like do something about the meter! But a cd on meter for all I care, less hp, bigger hitbox in GA, and slow down GA. Test it damn it on experimental they TOOK the laziness route!

I read every word and every comment thus far. I’m sick of people sticking their nose on mercy when they clearly don’t play or understand the hero.

If you have to ask “ what’s fun about GA?” You are the last person’s opinion I want to hear on Mercy along with many other distasteful people on this forum.

I really want to highlight this.

As a support players, having to watch someone die just to not feed feels awful, and having this happen much more consistently is a lot less fun.

Ok but on Ana, Baptiste, Kiriko, Brig, and Zen I would be able to heal them. On Mercy, the hero literally made to help her allies near exclusively, having to abandon people for death is awful.
