Why I Have Yet to Not Despise Mercy's Current State

If you’re yanking someone out of a tight spot, that may not be fast enough.

Anyway, I’ve clearly stated my case. You and I will never agree. I can only hope that people who have been entertaining this idea understand the ramifications of putting such an ability in OW.

I base it on existence of other ability, that can be even worse in trolling: ice wall. It’s been in game for a while, despite commonly used to lock team inside spawn room, and Blizzard still didn’t bother to add teammates ability to break it or walk through it.

Ice Wall does not control another character.

It does prevent them from moving, if used in small room, and can block whole team.

It does not directly control another character.

Neither does this one: you still can move from side to side if being pulled, it’s not stun ability like hook of Roadhog.

Between trolling ability, that affects one player, and ability to troll whole team, I would choose first.

Yes, it does. It is exactly what controlling another character means.

If you are sliding down on ice, ice isn’t controlling you, right? You still can adjust your move on it in any direction, except against one you slide in.

There is no cure for stupidity. Stupid teammates will be stupid.

You can’t override stupidity with intelligence on a cooldown.

Mei is not directly controlling another character. And just because one troll ability is in the game does not mean other one is acceptable.

That may be just enough to win game: make them smart for a few moments :smiling_imp: Assuming you are smart one yourself, of course.

How many times should I repeat it: you are still free to move in any direction, that’s not against one you being pulled at. Your control isn’t taken away, unlike when you are stunned or frozen.

I’m dying. :joy:

That entrance into the conversation was just too perfect.

You are putting me in a place I do not want to be, against my will, might I add. You are grossly overestimating human reaction time if this ability moves quickly, which it does in WoW. Or the ability is too slow to be of use.

Saying that I want to be in place where fight goes will be just as much of overstatement, but otherwise I won’t be able to heal.

I’d have to agree with this.

As ridiculously fun as this ability would be to abuse use, it would be very bad for the game.

But you are making the decision for someone else, and if you say communication is too slow, so the ability would help with getting someone how of danger, then communication would be too slow for me to say, no, don’t freaking move me.

Then again: what is faster - telling me “don’t move me” or pressing one button to make me stop?

I experienced similar ability in different game, but learnt to use it.

I can definitely see the benefits — I know the benefits—, but it would be used way too often since it’s one of a few abilities people can use, and people would constantly think someone is in the wrong place at the wrong time.
