It just shouldn’t make you lose SR unless you were grouped with the one that left when the game started. It’s an easy fix, really
This only hasn’t been implemented because it would still be exploited. You can organize win trading without being in a group, mostly at the highest rank where you tend to see the same people from match to match.
Then make it not apply to anyone masters or above.

Just give a reduced loss.
High ranks is just where it would be most common. It’d still be possible at any rank.
Also, paid loss prevention would happen at any rank. Like:
“Hey, our tank is throwing. Someone from our team please leave so we don’t all lose rank. I’ll pay you $5.”
If something can be exploited at all, it shouldn’t be implemented.
This contrived scenario could happen now, just paying the enemy $5 to leave.

Even in GM you don’t see the same people every game. And there comes a point where wintrading stops actually affecting the game, which is well before the point people face each other game after game.
There’s no actual downside to implementing this.
That’s throwing, though, and would get reported. Nobody is going to report a leaver on the team that was going to lose anyway.
I’m not being a contrarian. I’m telling you why it is the way it is. This would be an easily-exploitable situation with no avenue for detecting or combating it. That’s how you have to design competetive games. Assume that players will exploit the system for personal gain in any way they can.
When I’m in or near T500, I do see the same people for several matches in a row. It wouldn’t be hard to organize boosting someone a little higher.
Personally I don’t think it’s too much of an issue. If you yourself never quit comp games, then over time the enemy will have more quitters. Resulting in you gaining a tiny bit more sr due to leavers. Of course when it happens, it still sucks.
Just take the occasional L from leavers, it is not a big deal. The “solutions” would just cause more issues on top of there being leavers.
