Why dosen't ability dmg trigger ability effects in stadium

There are items that deal ability damage yet don’t trigger items that activate on ability hit. Why have an item that deals 30 ability damage, “ability damage”, not apply a debuff that activates on “ability damage”. Either change the wording or implement the obvious fact these things should synergize.

I’m not a Blizzard spokesperson, but I’m guessing they would like to avoid infinite recursive proc loops where dealing ability damage procs an item that deals ability damage which then procs itself and/or other items that deal ability damage, ad infinitum.

I’m also pretty sure that the things like “deal 30 ability damage” item procs are not themselves increased by ability damage scaling. Always flat 30 damage, no matter how much extra ability power you add. But I could be wrong about that one.

If thats the case then they need to change the wording, why not just say it deals damage if it dosen’t scale with anything or activate items.

It would help if you would be a lot more specific about which powers/items you’re talking about, otherwise none of us have any clue about what the wording is.

First if you go into the descriptions they are written in a way that seems to account for recursive behavior which makes it seem like this was a failed implementation. Junker queen shout power, the kistune item that gives ability damage to weapons, both do not trigger cyber venom for example. It seems all ability damage tied to item “ability damage” does not trigger on hit ability effects. The descriptions are clear whether something is trigger on ability use or ability damage. I don’t need to provide specifics, it’s almost a non synergy among all ability activated and ability damage granting items.
