Tangents about Dva, Zen, Hog, Brig, etc notwithstanding… They are mostly right.
Yep, Doom should work well with rush meta, meaning Doomfist is garbage since he doesn’t. No surprise there, and I’m willing to bet Blizz knows that, they’re dumb but they’re not that dumb, so why is Doomfist kept in the major G garbage state?
Well, it’s because Doomfist is major G garbage design. A hero with 4 CCs and intentionally designed to be frustrating.
Ultimate point is: Doomfist is Team 4’s failure, hardly the only one (BRIGGG!!!), but one of them that is on the rework list.
Now, if one think that’s an unfair treatment of Doomfist as a character, I’d suggest one to queue as tank solo and enjoy the 30s queue times. Those people have it the best don’t they? It’s incredibly fun, CC chains aren’t annoying at all and that’s the most fun role for sure.

I wonder one thing, since when was the enemy experience ever a concern? Why should i care for the enemy player ? Ultimately he isnt on my side.
I just think that frustration by the enemies should be allowed, im not here to babysit you.

It is not for you to give a fork about it. You play your hero the way you want how you want and have a drink on me while you do it.
Blizzard however, needs to sell this crap to millions, so they need to make a fun game.

Every hero is frustrating which is undeniable, however, frustration is subjective, how would you balance the game around subjective feelings ?
You can’t, that’s why you should balance the game around stats and competitiveness, otherwise make this game a causal game and cancel the OWL, you can’t have it both.
Most things about game design are subjective, yet that hasn’t stopped smart people from learning about it. People have this idea that subjective means “options A” equals “option B” and that’s just not true.

Blizzard decided it was frustrating according to their subjective experience, and they made it, so take it as what it is.
And going even further on this subject, good multiplayer design means having fun while losing, otherwise potentially half your playerbase is not having fun, which would make for a very bad game. You cannot design a multiplayer game as one would a game against AIs.

Because in your little dream scenario, only 1 player is having a good time whilst 6 are not. That’s hillariously bad game design. A game designed like this has no integrity or longevity. Best accept that the individual should come last, and help brainstorm rework ideas.

the meta isnt actually rush tho? the best dps rn are tracer, echo, cree and ashe, why would anyone expect doom to be strong there?
Interestingly, normally doom has otps around 4500 no matter what the forums are saying (basically danned is a god) but atm, samito is far and away the highest doom main on ladder at 4420. Doom is less represented in high elo ladder than usual for sure! Its probably just because of tracer/echo, cree and ashe being not only much better but also having good matchups against him
I believe that discrepancy is because Samito and Chipsa are talking about the previous patch, which was roughly about 50% Rein/Cree/Bap rush and double bubble the other half.
Not only has the meta shifted (Rein, Bap, Cree nerfs) but OWL is going through hero bans.

Normally? Its only in rush, before rush from season 20 until season 26 only 2 people got 4.4 bootyblaster and RxP, now its rush doom is marginally better, also samito isnt a doom otp he plays a lot of hanzo and other heros and dannedd and pastor are the only 4.5 doom rn, also bootyblaster got 4.5 with a lot of Hitscan time.
Doom is poopoo.

Ya see: y’all just need to learn to be more sadistic.
Making enemies suffer is where it’s at.
There’s no way to make this hero as good as they want without infuriating majority of the playerbase. Doom should have got the OW2 rework treatment. He needed it more than orisa honestly as every part of his kit is just unfun and reeks of horrible game design.
