Why feed into a beast that continously lets you down?
Why develop a game for a company that sullies your creation?
Why support something that your best interest is no longer in favor.
Change is hard, change is difficult, but change can happen.
Can you imagine the change could happen if everyone said “This is enough”?
If nothing is done this predatory tactic will carry over all games.
Are you seriously trying to get the devs to quit via a public game forum? Really?
This is a game discussion forum (aka why OW2 is garbo right now and with justification), and doing that sort of thing kinda crosses the line. That’s not something for us to even start up here. Too far.

I think the developers would prefer having jobs.

Video games have come full circle. The beginning with arcades and the quarter for each life. Don’t know if it’s worse now or back then but yea we have come full circle
Will it get worse or better!? Who knows it’s up to the consumer really

Oh man arcades. I miss the days of getting up early at a weekend in the 80s to go to my local arcade to play Star Wars in all it’s 3D Vector Graphic glory FeelsStrongMan

Because the majority of developers are just normal people working and they don’t get a choice on the changes. Do you really expect them to stand up and say no or leave because the people higher up in the company make stupid changes. A lot of them probably have families to provide for like be for real
Yeah it’s like I acknowledge the fact the devs have made mistakes that are glaringly obvious, which need to be dealt with-but the stubbornness is unreal-just acknowledge they made mistakes with the balancing etc.
But at the same time which I’ve mentioned a few times, there’s also the scummy suits who would have put the pressure on them to release the game before it was ready. Whoever they are, and these people will be responsible for the monetization of the store, they are scummy, and they’ve pulled some scummy stuff (to put it politely) with this game. And I don’t wish ill upon people-but it’s those types I’d like to see financially ruined because they deserve it. Because it’s their decisions that can cost people their jobs because of how badly things can backfire because of player unhappiness.
A lot is going on in Blizzard right now. The place is unioning up, so I expect things will be improving there.
Which given they have been shown to play some of the worst in the industry lately shouldn’t be a surprise that there is room to negotiate better.
Devs want a paycheck. To them it’s no different than any other job. They show up and do what they’re told until it’s time to clock out.
The comments made me realize that gaming is doomed.
Thank goodness i have a vast collection already cause this monetization route is going to lower content so badly.
