Why don't any of the pros wrist aim?

or at least not many. based on sensitivities it looks like almost everyone uses their arm. the only one I can think of that seems to be wrist aim is architect.

definitions
Arm aim: uses arm to track and wrist to do the final flick typically
wrist aim: uses wrist to track and wrist to do the microflicks before shooting.

i was trying out wrist aim today and it seems like your wrist is way more accurate than arm for tracking so I don’t see why people would choose not to use wrist for everything, except that overusing your wrist is painful.

i’m originally an arm aimer, but while testing it out on mccree it seems like suddenly It’s so much easier to spin and 180 headshot. and if my tracking is more accurate with my wrist, I don’t see why I shouldn’t use it

Definitely use what YOU find more comfortable.

Pros are scared of wrist injuries.

Arm aiming is way more consistent if you wanna play for years

Assuming that Arm/Wrist aren’t two extreme opposites but instead are on a gradual scale, I’d say a lot of streamers are closer to wrist aimers, since you can see their mouse cam.

Yep, arm aiming uses more muscles so it’s better for muscle memory while also avoiding carpal tunnel issues.

It’s more reliable in terms of accuracy and better for your health.

As said several times over it’s both more reliable to use your arm long term and much less likely to lead to injury.

Wrist aiming is not good for your health.

this isnt true at all, sinatraa and haksal are some of the many pros that wrist aim just to name a few, wrist aim has advantages and so does arm

Having a lower sens means there is a bigger physical movement before you go off target. It is dependent on hero choice though, most tracer players are gonna play with a higher sense than a mcree main.

And using bigger muscle groups leads to more consistency and muscle memory but it also takes more energy. One isn’t objectively better than the other in all situations and it’s mostly preference.
I personally like a rather low sense, 3k edpi but my tracer play suffers because of it while my widow/bap/Cree etc are benefiting from it.

I remember there being a FaZe Clan member back in 2014ish that was disabled and ONLY played call of duty with his feet. The guy even did feet cam videos. It was nuts!

A Lot of Pro’s dont wrist aim because of their postures. Its more than wrist action. They dont sit straight up and elevated above their desk, they sit “comfortable”. When you sit comfortable you are sitting with the base of your sternum (reference position) at or below your desk table top. This is usually the case for the average person, body types differ. When you sit lower, your elbows droop below your table top and cause more wrist and carpal tunnel harm than when you game elevated. They use arm motions to counter this but it doesnt counter much long term. It just feels better, until they go do something else. Trust me, I know, I have wrist issues from time to time because of this exact thing. Sometimes it affects my elbows because of the “comfort and slacked” positioning. Eventually they will get full on carpal tunnel and will have to have surgery (luckily im no where near there) to either get stents, tendon relief or have their ulnar nerve repositioned. Back in the early counter-strike days (CS1.4-1.6) I used to play on ridiculously high out of bounds mouse sensitivity (40.0-60.0 and the manual cap is 20.0) at Windows Default with a ball mouse and first generation laser mouse. That was all wrist action as i barely had to move my mouse. With lower sensitivities you have to move a lot more so you cause more wear and tear.

Na…it wasnt nuts…it was toes

Oh oh or… he really had to put his foot down!

Oh! I wonder if he ever started out a match on the weong foot?!

Ok ill stop…

ISn’t Geguri a wrist aimer?

She’s an offtank main. D.va and Zarya suit high sens due to large hitbox and more need for large movements.

Very few DPS hitscan pros use wrist aim. Most wrist aimers are projectile/flex DPS or tanks/supps.

They use both. Arm for fov then wrist for small adjustments.

I’m a hybrid myself but using wrist aim for long time is simply bad for your wrist. Arm aim is also more consistent for lower mechanical skill level players but if you are really talented, arm or wrist doesn’t matter much. So I guess it’s more of a personal preference?

pfft you dont even needs to aim now days. Go buy your aim everyone else does and they be playing for months.
