Why doesn't the game teach about gameplay basics/strategies?

Everyone here has a good point. Quickplay is just that, quickplay. You go to practise new heroes you don’t know, or just shoot the s**t and have fun. People get drunk/high and jump on quickly. People feed. There’s nothing you can do about it in solo queue. “It’s just QP” is valid. Because it is just QP and you can’t dictate how others play this game.

If you want consistently decent teammates, whether playing QP or comp, you have to group up. Grouping up solves many problems in this game, from matchmaking, to toxic teammates (so long as you don’t group with toxic players).

It’s a tough pill for some to swallow. People just want to play solo and have all these issues ‘fixed’ for them. But… That’s never going to happen. Many of these issues have been around since launch in 2016, including the trickling 1 by 1.

You can slowly grow your friends list over time by sending requests to the good teammates you find in solo queue and asking to group.

But saying that, the game could provide tips in the loading screens. “If you get killed off before the team fight starts, it’s often better to back off, live and regroup.” Many players just need reminding, but they hate being reminded by other players and will be triggered.

Or just have a ‘tips’ menu in the main menu and when you bring up the Escape menu in game.

That most players are insane, most people will do the same thing expecting different results…

So in QP, you CAN win those. I see it fairly often.
